You think Rodman was wierd?
How about Viking DE Underwood?
Ex-Charger WR David Boston?

They are Mary Poppins compared to this piece of work Seldom has a not-signed rookie been the poster child of the Hanible Lecter social club. This guy will be a (bad) joke of the NFL for years. He gives SCUM BAGS a bad name.
Joe Gibbs - hide in the closet.
THIS "PLAYER" WILL MAKE JOE GIBBS RETIRE AGAIN -- SOON.

Sean Taylor fined $25,000 for leaving rookie school
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press negotiations<
NEW YORK (AP) _ Safety Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins has been fined $25,000 by the NFL for leaving the league's rookie symposium for a day.

The fine is the largest leveled on a rookie for missing the mandatory seminars for first-year players. Ryan Leaf of San Diego and Ron Dayne of the New York Giants were fined $10,000 in 1998 and 2000 _ Leaf for leaving early and Dayne for not attending.

The NFL did not announce the fine but a source within the league, who requested anonymity, confirmed to The Associated Press that it had been levied.

Taylor, who starred at Miami, was the fifth player chosen in the April draft. He fired his agent shortly after the draft and waited until this week to hire Eugene Mato and Jeffrey Moorad to start negotiations for a contract with the Redskins.

``There was agreement around the table today that everyone's entitled to a rookie mistake,'' said Moorad, commenting on the fine following Friday's contract talks in Newport Beach, Calif. ``At this point, the focus is on getting his career started with the Redskins.''

Moorad and Mato met Thursday and Friday with Redskins director of player personnel Vinny Cerrato, but Cerrato returned to Washington late Friday without a deal.

Moorad's longtime associate, Scott Parker, and Redskins front office negotiator Eric Schaffer will continue the talks Saturday in San Francisco. Moorad said there was still a chance Taylor could be signed on Sunday so that he could attend a three-day ``passing camp'' starting Monday. Training camp opens next Saturday.

``We haven't given up on Sunday yet,'' Moorad said. ``There's a fair amount of positive momentum, but we're still apart on some significant issues and we're looking for ways to resolve them.''

The mandatory rookie symposium is designed to teach rookies about the pitfalls of being an NFL player, with an emphasis on off-the-field behavior.

Taylor attended the first session on Sunday, June 27. He left the next day, then returned for the final session.

Me neither, just irresponsible. But anyway, if he's a problem child - just look at where he played college ball - Miami - that should explain everything.

You are right, he may just be eccentric.
I have followed this story since before he was drafted.
The wierdness is circumstantial. He may be the smartest one in the draft. It should be a good story to watch.

This seemed like a good thread to get everyone aiming toward football.
July is a terrible month.

I think day 2 is just the non-essential kibbitz like staying away from cocaine rings, avoiding murder scenes, dodging cops by hiding in the trunk of your car, fending off cravings to run your family over with your SUV, and eschewing thoughts of McMichaeling your wife or other close family members.

Nothing he doesn't already know.

Those aren't the two guys I'd want to be modeling my actions against.

I will be the first to admit I must have been wrong about Taylor.
He signed quick and fairly easy.
He may end up being the best player of the draft.
I hope I was totally wrong and he ends up being an all-pro on and off the field.

Redskins sign first-round pick Taylor
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) _ The Washington Redskins agreed to a seven-year, $18 million deal with first-round draft pick Sean Taylor, The Associated Press has learned.

After late night negotiations, Taylor was on a flight to Washington on Tuesday morning to sign his contract, according to agent Jeff Moorad.

``We agreed to terms as the clock struck midnight,'' Moorad said.

A Redskins official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the agreement and said the team would likely hold a news conference later Tuesday.

The amount of the contract was confirmed by a party involved in the negotiations, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not yet been signed. The source said Taylor will received a $7.2 million signing bonus, and that the total bonus money in the deal _ including option and roster bonuses _ exceeds $13 million.

The source also said the contract has escalators that can make the deal worth up to $40 million over six years, while the seventh year can be voided. The escalators are based on three areas _ playing time, on-field performance and Pro Bowl or All-Pro selections.

Taylor, the No. 5 overall pick, is expected to be Washington's opening day starter at free safety.
