Three years ago the track oddsmaker for Monmouth Park made Brad Thomas made a really big name for himself by picking the BelmonT Stakes Trifecta straight on the bottom of the program where he makes his selections everyday. It paid something like 1500.00. Every racing day he takes the train to long Branch and then a cab to Monmouth park at about 7:30 am. Ihave had the pleasure of riding in the same cab as him twice in the last week.
Anyway on Friday I asked him if he was going to have the trifecta in the Belmont again. He said he seriously doubted it. He also told me that War Emblem had a better chance than the last few horses with the first two legs of the crown in their pocket. He did however think he would'nt get it done. Imagine my surprise on Saturday to see the bastard picked SARAVA to win the frieking Race right on the bottom of the program!!!!
He didn't have the triple but he gave everyone at the track a $142 horse. This guy is sharp. I hope he took his own advice and bet this horse across the board. If he keyed the horse with 4 horses behind it he had to hit the exacta and triple.
