Actually shot 9-of-10 from 3's in first half. Hit their first 9.
I will admit I like to use stats in some cases to support what I'm saying, but I try to bring the stats into context of what the game was like.
Did Carolina get a couple extra calls at home tonight? Probably. But, yeah, Tech was shooting a lot of jumpers. UNC was going inside to Hansbrough all night, and some of those fouls took away easy layups b/c it was called on the floor and not hoop + harm.
I would contrast tonight's game with the Duke/FSU game. Duke/FSU was tight the entire game, going into OT. I think thats the game that Duke got called for one foul in the last 14 minutes, yet FSU was driving to the goal on almost every play. Does that prove that Duke was fouling? No, but it is very telling.
The difference is night and day. I do admit my bias...I can't get around it. I love the Heels. But, its not like UNC was handchecking/bumping/etc on every single possession tonight. Can't compete against that. Just ask Wake and several other teams Duke has played.
