Interesting tidbit I read at covers.com

Starting back in 1996, and leading up to yesterday (Oct. 9), there have been 163 playoff games. The 'under' is an impressive 94-60-9 during this span (a solid 58 percent clip).

The breakdown is as follows:

1996 - under was 17-10-5 (53 percent)
1997 - under was 18-15-1 (53 percent)
1998 - under was 19-10-2 (61 percent)
1999 - under was 20-12 (63 percent)
2000 - under was 18-12-1 (58 percent)
2001 - under was 2-1

Thanks for the info.

I wonder how totals have adjusted over the years, if any.

By that, I mean I wonder if Mulder-Clemens would have had a 7.5 posted on it, say 3 or 5 years ago.

I doubt it. Today's totals, especially the Atl-Hou and Oak-NY games, seem to beg (at least me) for an over play, despite these trends.

I'm going over in the Atl-Hou game, still deciding on NY-Oak.

Home plate ump is Chuck Merriweather. He has called 6 over games and 26 UNDER games. With Glavine on the mound he should get the outside coner all day. Just something to think about
