I live in Albuquerque and have followed the UNM Lobos for about 25 years. Unfortunately for Lobo fans the program is a mess. 12 players have left the team in the last three years and the latest rumor out of Albuquerque is that three more players are threatening to leave if coach Fran returns next year. Also, based on discussions with some Lobo Club members, several high profile boosters are fed up with being embarrassed by all the negative publicity and want coach Fran to be let go. Even two legislators got into the act by publicly stating they want changes made to the program.
I'm not sure what is up with Lightfool (reserve guard) but he didn't return with the team from Las Vegas and missed practice on Sunday. Reports are that he was at the shoot around on Monday and that this isn't an issue.
