UT, I don't want to throw cold water on your picks but 10 units seems like a lot to lay on a guy (Trinidad) who is coming back from a long layoff (self-imposed retirement), especially when you consider he is fighting someone with the same style. Like, Tito, Mayorga is a devastating puncher who can knock guys out with either hand. Even though both guys have pretty solid chins, I think the best bet for this fight may be to pick the under.

I've learned my lesson long ago betting on Golata. After handling Riddick Bowe in two fights, only to self-destruct, I thought this guy could make some waves in the heavyweight division if he just applied himself. However, his problem is that he is a head case and can't help but sabotage all of his fights. Against Lennox Lewis he came out scared and promptly got whacked. Against Tyson he was scared and quit the fight after a round. I would never put hard earned money on Golata, no matter who the opponent.

Thanks badjab for your input. I gave up for a while on boxing after spending hours upon hours capping matches then making a decision on a person only to lose it due to some BS reason.

Ive recently met someone very "key" in the industry who lives in Vegas, and based on his history/past, who he knows, etc, and his track record in the past regarding boxing information and sides taken, when he calls with information i play what he says-period. Is it a blind tail? yea. Is he in the know? yea. with the way boxing is evolving, ill take this route and continue in this manner until the tide turns, if it ever does.......good luck on your picks........

I would have a hard time betting Golota over Ruiz. You have 1 guy who looks like an abdolutely horrible fighter (Ruiz), who finds a way to win the majority of the time. In Golota you have a guys (as you mentioned), who self destructs way to often. Golota is more skilled than Ruiz (who isn;t), but Ruiz's style will give Golota hell and Golota could freak out again.

"the bunker"
let me add one thing...kinda off the subject....

i vote for floyd mayweather jr as the worst trainer of the year....

he was utterly incoherent in oscar dlh`s corner over the weekeend....saying stuff like,"he`s old...beat his ass"....that`s some savvy advice....

the same trainer that told hassim rahman, who was fighting john ruiz,"go to him...walk to him...close the distance...he don`t want tio fight"...exactly the wrong advice to give any ruiz opponent....the closer you get to ruiz, the easier it is for him to do his "one punch and clinch" deal.....

i`ve made it a point to listen to mayweather....he`s an utter joke as a cornerman...and you almost need an interpreter...

as for mayorga/trinidad....you have a much more skilled guy in trinidad....a better technician than mayorga.....a worse technician than dlh and/or hopkins...but a better technician than mayorga....

but...and it`s a BIG but,he hasn`t fought in over 2 years....and only has 2 fights at middleweight...mayorga has none....whew...

mayorga is awkward...has a better chin....and throws punches from some weird angles....with bad intentions...will trinidad be sharp enough to step inside those wild, wide punches and throw straight, accurate shots?

to step in with a guy like mayorga after a long layoff is dangerous....

i`d really like to see both guys together as middleweights to see who looks like they carry the weight more naturally....

they were both big welters...

Just put a small chunk on Trinidad by 12 round decision at +240 (5dimes)

This is not my prediction for the fight, nor will this be my only play for the fight, I just think it has good value as Trinidad should win and Mayorga has a rock hard chin.

Also layed a very small chunk on Mayorga by 12 round decision at +970

This is definitly not my prediction for the fight but it has good value also, imo...Mayorga-Forrest II for example.

My take on this fight is the same as everyone's, Trinidad is the much better fighter but he 's coming off a 2.5 year layoff to fight a very dangerous opponent in Mayorga...bla bla bla...

I'll post my thoughts and final plays for the "tito" fight next week.

I couldn't agree with you more on Mayweather Sr.

My wife walked into the room between rounds and asked why there was a crackhead in the ring yelling at DLH,
my only response was "good question"

Got to agree. A absolute joker! What was that idea of getting Oscar to rest his arms on Mayweathers shoulders??? Any boxer will tell you you go to your corner and rest your arms on your knees, and thats it!

That was laughable!!
