I don't know if anyone cares, but I thought it would be interesting to watch someone's progress in attempts to obtain their PGA card. So here is Jace Bugg's story from this year. Hopefully next year he will be in some of these matchups. He has gone through PGA's Q-school twice now. He was eliminated in stage one the first year and stage two the second. I am not exactly sure how it works, so I hope that goes along with the format.
Jace finished his second (and best)year on the Canadian Tour. He played on the TearDrop and Hooters Tours before that. Bugg finished fourth of the McDonald's Order of Merit this year winning $64,717 (Canadian).
He also finished fourth in the 2001 Niagara Classic this past week. The Niagara Classic is reserved for the top 30 money winners on the Canadian Tour. The moneys won this week are not included in the overall tour winnings.
He will begin Q-School this year on October 14 in Dayton, NV. I will update everyone there when I hear from him or read something about his progress.
As a side note, Bugg and his wife were married two months ago. She also serves as his caddy. They were sponsored by local businessmen from Kentucky, bought an RV and travel around playing tournaments. He turned pro in 1997 after two years of school at Rend Lake Juior College.
