Anybody having trouble depositing checks (from book sites) into their bank accts? It is now unlawful (in the US) for banks to allow credit card deposit transactions. I was able to use my card as recentlly as Dec but now I have no such luck. My bank informed me that as of Jan 1 2010 it is now illegal for them to allow "transactions" through internet gambling sites. I didn't bother to ask them about depositing checks. Is this going to be an issue? I certainly hope not... .

Also what are the best methods for depositing funds since credit cards are no longer an option?

Appreciate any info on this.

The tried and true Western Union and MoneyGram. You can't go wrong with them. I have never had a problem using those two methods. It depends on the book, but bottom line it always works.:)

As for withdrawls, again depends on the book, bank wire, MoneyGram and Western Union always work.

Of course if your book doesn't have Western Union or MoneyGram as an option then I can't help:142smilie

Note: Some books will only let you send and receive money via WU or MG once a week, so take note of that.

Also, depending on the sportsbook you can get your money the same day via WU or MG.

And finally as for cheques from a sportsbook, I have never had a problem but the cheques have always been deposited in Canadian bank accounts.

Tip: If picking up money via WU or MG make sure you pick up at a location that has the cash on hand.

"Gift Card" option is also used at some sportsbooks, but I have never used that option.

i would contact the books themselves and their banking dept. for the best ways and different options.... the more some avenue of doing banking gets played up in an open public forum the quicker it will be taken away.

I received a wire transfer deposit from my book to my bank account beginning of last month no problems.

I just requested a payout this month via Fed Ex check. Haven't received it yet. Hope there are no deposit issues with my bank. I always deposit through the ATM with those checks instead of going inside to avoid any questions. Haven't had any issues doing that before. I'll update when I receive check and make deposit.
