Thought I would start a thread on this matchup....

Oly opening line:

Brooks -135
Goosen +105

I have to go with Goosen for 2 reasons:

1. He has something to prove and should be more focused.

2. With respect to age, I feel Brooks will feel more pressure to win since it may be his last chance to win a major.

Any other thoughts???

disagree. brooks has been here before. goosen not. don't think goosen will sleep easy tonight. you don't think that putt will be in his head for awhile. he can say whatever he wants. he choked period. i like brooks he has been solid every round. very few mistakes. i'll the -135.

brooks -135 5 units

Back after a good nights sleep which is more than could be said for Brooks and Goosen, personally I couldn't choose between them and have just had a few more quid on Brooks at -111 Simon Bold just to balance up my book, I can now sit back and enjoy it (unlike last night

The weather will be essentially the same, and with the wind and sun yesterday the greens should be harder and faster by this evening. That might favor Goosen's game as he has been solid on the greens and around them all week, averaging 28.75 putts per round. Lots of up and downs for him. I am taking Goosen +110 (betcamelot.com) for 2 units.

According to my newspaper Goosen has won his last 10 Dunhill Cup matches. Since this will basically be match play today I'll take:
Goosen 1 unit
This week: Faiways hit-
Goosen 68%
Brooks 75%
GIR-
Goosen 67%
Brooks 74%
Putts per round-
Goosen 28.75
Brooks 29.75
Just thought I'd throw those out there. Maybe rethinking.......

Based on this week's stats it looks like Brooks should have the edge; more fairways, more greens in regulation. Even though they both 3 putted #18 yesterday, Goosen HAD to be thinking possible birdie and no worse than a par after that approach shot.

It should be interesting but I think Brooks wins today. He won the PGA in '96, which I happened to attend, in a playoff, and he has the proven cajones.
