- - I knew I would have hours and hours of time invested in watching the action, and hearing and reading information and analysis, so it was always my intention to add one or more players in-running, probably at long odds. After Thursday surprised with a leaderboard flowing with red numbers, I was not feeling much of anything. Now it seems obvious that almost anyone finding a way to shoot a 69 or 67 is probably going to find themselves dreaming on Saturday night of a path to the championship on Sunday . . . After studying on the possibilities, and trying to weigh the golf action I've seen at Winged Foot, narratives from interviews and social media, feelers subjectively gleaned from the participant's seasons and careers to date, stats, game strengths, pairings, etc., I'm speculating on this time and place for 33 year old Horschel at 100/1, needing him to step it up from his 9 of 28 fairways hit to really justify this leap of faith over Finau(50/1), Berger(100/1), Kokrak(33/1), Im(500/1), Oosthuizen(50/1), Glover(200/1) and Howell(1000/1). And DJ(25/1), duh.
