CranMan the CrazyMan has finally been released from his "pysch hold" that stemmed from the M. Tyson wager (KO 4th) HA!

kickserv - thanks for the tip on Novak

In my "warped" method of picking tennis matches I noticed the following:

Stepanek is a claycourt player that hasn't played a hardcourt match since a "tourney" on 3/24/04 (3rd round loss). The H2H lead is on grass and clay.

Novak has been on the hardcourt 7/26, 8/2 and 8/15, with good h.c. performances to begin "04"

I made the following small parlay at CRIS:

A. Roddick -6000
C. Moya -1350
D. Hrbaty -1000
T. Haas -1000

Thanks for sharing your expertise in this sport and much success in your work endeavors.

I know this is after the fact, however, when I read your reply to my post I had to chuckle and tell you about 1 more wager.

I wonder if the following parlay that I placed at CRIS at 7:12 a.m. C.S.T. before leaving for work will get you started on the paperwork for me to be declared certifiable: HA! HA!

Hey kick,

Thanks for taking the time out from you hectic work schedule to post. Of course I 'tailed you on these. I have surely missed not having any tennis plays from you in awhile.

I hope you are able to keep posting throughout the Open. If not, that is OK, too. I will gladly take what I can get from you. I truly appreciate your contributions.

BTW, thanks for putting the call into Younes to throw in the towel. As many times as I have lost a sure winner from retirement, it sure is nice to get money back from what looked to be a clear loser!

Hope all is well with you and good luck,

-JC

Thanks kick-y. Gotta love it when kickserv brings out a big banger. I better go jump on that one before the line moves on me.

While I am at it, I need to ask you a question that I don't think I have had clarified by you before. When you post the units on a favorite, you are only risking that amount, not to win that amount. Correct? And conversely, all of your dog plays are risking the full unit amount to win more, and sometimes much more ( :) ). Do I have this right?

Thanks in advance for the clarification,

-JC

Nevermind, kick. Looking back at some of your old posts, I am pretty confident that is indeed the way you do it. Don't really know why I felt the need to ask. Anyway, I am already down on these. Let's bring 'em all in.

Good Luck to All,

kickserv -

I took some of your S. Koubek as we watch the spin from the "southpaw" send A. Bogomolov, Jr. into a "tail spin"!

I wagered on M. Pierce @ -285 -

Her last 2 tournaments (Olympics - QF loss to Justin H-H & Rogers - 3rd rd. loss to J. Capriati) were on the h.c. and she played extremely well.

M. Loit plays very well on clay and is poor/below average on the h.c.

I learned a couple of hours ago that my mother-in-law unexpectidly passed and am having a hard time making it off to bed. I need to get up in 3 hrs. to get my wife on a 7 a.m. flight to Spokane, WA.

I'm going to be "Mr. Mom" until 9/7 and hopefully sporting events will be a good distraction from one of lifes curves being thrown in our direction.

Please have a good thought for someone who was one of His special people and may she R.I.P.

Kickserv,

Are you aware of Koubek's shoulders problems? I've read that it is very difficult for him to serve with this pain.

Other injury alerts are on Henman and Tursunov. Legitimate retirements here...

good luck

Wheww! Man, I was on my way to New York to have a word with Mr. Koubek had he blown that one!

I truly hope he is hurt like HPark pointed out, otherwise there is simply no explanation for the way he let that match linger and linger. Talk about a lack of killer instinct!

The guy breezes through the first two sets then gets beat 6-1 in the third. Up a break in the fourth...I'm thinking he's in control again. Much to my dismay, I check the scores later and he loses six straight games to lose the fourth 6-2  I check back later to see him gaining control again up 3-0 in the final set. Even better when I check back at 5-1 serving for the set. Of course, just to keep the followers of kickserv a little uneasy, he blows away his chance to serve out the match, then loses the next game. At 5-3 I could just feel bad things happening again, but fortunately, somehow, someway he pulled this one out for us Koubek backers.

Please no more of these stressful 5 setters on the big ones, OK kick? Oh well, bottomline is that kickserv wins another one of his big tennis plays. Thanks again, kick! You are the man when it comes to wagering on the little yellow ball.
