Wheww! Man, I was on my way to New York to have a word with Mr. Koubek had he blown that one!
I truly hope he is hurt like HPark pointed out, otherwise there is simply no explanation for the way he let that match linger and linger. Talk about a lack of killer instinct!
The guy breezes through the first two sets then gets beat 6-1 in the third. Up a break in the fourth...I'm thinking he's in control again. Much to my dismay, I check the scores later and he loses six straight games to lose the fourth 6-2
I check back later to see him gaining control again up 3-0 in the final set. Even better when I check back at 5-1 serving for the set. Of course, just to keep the followers of kickserv a little uneasy, he blows away his chance to serve out the match, then loses the next game. At 5-3 I could just feel bad things happening again, but fortunately, somehow, someway he pulled this one out for us Koubek backers.
Please no more of these stressful 5 setters on the big ones, OK kick? Oh well, bottomline is that kickserv wins another one of his big tennis plays. Thanks again, kick! You are the man when it comes to wagering on the little yellow ball.
