henley way under the radar as we haven’t seen him tee it up since the PGA, but his performances at the US Open have been trending in the right direction - after missing 2 of his first 3 cuts in the event, russell has gone 27/25/13 and last year was tied for the lead after 54 holes before a final round 76 did him in - meanwhile hviii has been populating leaderboards for a while now and is clearly top of mind - varner has very limited experience in the US Open though, having missed the cut in his only start in 2018

they’re calling this a second shot golf course, and henley ranks 2nd on tour this season in strokes gained/approach (with hviii a respectable 29th) - henley also a straighter driver of the golf ball, ranking 22nd in driving accuracy this season while varner all the way down at 163rd
