I love the Aggies in this position like I said Denhey has to win and he has to win conference games or he is in trouble. Cox had a great game against the vandals last year and he loves to spread the ball out to alot of different guys. A little thing that might be worth saying is that this is the Aggies first game on their new sprintturf. The Aggies have speed and this might help them a bit.

Good Luck

USU-IDAHO SERIES -- Saturday's game will mark the 31st meeting between Utah Sate and Idaho with the series knotted at 14-14-2. The Aggies lead the series in Logan by a narrow 6-5 count and have won three of the last four here. The last meeting in Logan was a 31-14 USU win in 2000, but the Vandals posted a road win here in 1998 with a 26-14 victory. While USU has won 12 of the last 17 meetings, including five straight from 1971-97, Idaho has claimed three of the last four games since that streak. USU head coach Mick Dennehy is 1-2 all-time against Idaho in his head coaching career with a 33-30 loss at Montana in 1999 and a 31-14 win in 2000 and a 20-13 loss last year while at USU.

USU-IDAHO LAST YEAR -- Career days by quarterback Travis Cox and tight end Chris Cooley (now with the Washington Redskins) were not enough as Utah State allowed Idaho to rally from a 13-3 deficit, as the Vandals scored 10 points in the final quarter to beat the Aggies 20-13 in last year's season finale at Moscow, Idaho. Cox threw for a career-high 322 yards and one touchdown, while Cooley pulled in a career-best 10 catches for 125 yards, the second-best yardage total of his career. USU ran up 436 yards of total offense, its second-best of the season, but Idaho controlled the clock in the second and fourth quarters en route to 393 yards of its own. IU held the ball for 10:11 of the fourth quarter. LB Rodney Wilson recorded a career-best 19 tackles in his final game at USU, while Cox had a 41-yard run, the longest by an Aggie quarterback since 1992.

HOME IN THE DENNEHY ERA -- While Utah State has struggled on the road with a 4-22 record in the fifth year of the Mick Dennehy era, the Aggies have performed much better at home in Logan. USU has produced a 12-8 home record, including a perfect 5-0 record against conference foes at home. However a 23-14 loss to Troy last year counted as a Sun Belt game, even though Troy was a year away from joining the league. Here is a look at USU's home record against league foes since Dennehy arrived in 2000: 2000 - W 31-14 vs. Idaho, W 44-31 vs. Arkansas State 2001 - Independent 2002 - Independent 2003 - W 28-10 vs. UL-Monroe, W 49-0 vs. Arkansas State, W 41-20 vs. Middle Tenn.

FRESHMEN SUCCESS -- USU's two touchdowns in its opener at Alabama were scored by true freshmen as WR Kevin Robinson caught a 35-yard pass from Travis Cox for a first-quarter touchdown and TB Chris Forbes hauled in a 21-yarder from Cox in the third quarter. All of last season only two USU freshmen scored touchdowns in TB Travis Davis (rush) and FS Terrance Washington (interception return).
