Look for Utah to stay hot on Sat. Actually they have played well all season.
Losses:
N Carolina on road
Col St on road (Utah at goal line at end of game)
TCU in OT on road
SD St at home (fluke, they had 591 yards of offense)

Wins
Arizona
Wyoming by 30
Air Force and UNLV comfortably
Utah St.

N Mexico hasn't beaten anyone and is now stuck with a green QB on the road. Spread goes up 1.5 to 2 points maybe more by game time. I don't care. QB Brian Johnson is playing great and Utah will trash N Mexico in a tune up for the Holy War with BYU.

...careful. Utah just covered their first game of the year.... I'm not going to try to talk you out of it.... I like Utah, but I have not pulled the trigger yet. Vegas has taken atvantage of the left over publis sentiment from Alex Smith and last year's team.... They don't build those big hotels without doing something right.... :)

But if you look at their games.

2 Back door covers on essentially blow outs (UNLV and Air Force)
A loss to what turned out to be a pretty good team ( N Carolina)
Lousy execution inside the 5 yard line (S Diego St and Col st.

Still think they are a pretty good team and New Mexico may have packed it in.

In their last two losses (BYU / CSU), New Mexico had two very serious fourth quarter breakdowns. Both of these games were well in hand until both offensive and defensive units made critical errors in the final stanza..

I think this is a coaching issue.

With a bye week to get things corrected, I'm betting the team and coaching staff end up on the same page.

Also, if Utah's Quinton Gather remains doubtful, the Utes will be forced to throw and the Lobo defense may shut down Brian Johnson just like they did with Wyo's Corey Bramlet.

Good luck on this game.
