Anyone have thoughts on this game? Score predictions? Rice covered the line last year against UTEP in El Paso. I know it left a bitter taste in my mouth...

Rice is an awful team in disarray. They've had to make coaching changes midseason and it still didnt help. everyone is rolling them.

the only reason rice covers would be

a) utep overlooks them
b) rice reallllllllllllly steps it up b/c utep is a pretty damn good team

Isn't Rice like PURDUE and DUKE....lost the money about EVERY game this season. Between those 3 is there at least ONE ats win this year?

I may be a little off here, but I've got those 3 dogs going an amazing 0-20 this year ATS using the opening lines.

Tony, you are correct about all 3 of those teams; however, I have another question for you.... When is the last time that any team has gone perfect ATS by either covering or not covering for the entire season???

what about totals wise? Texas is 6-0 ATS AND 6-0 OVER this year.

i guess the law of averages say that rice should cover eventually as the spread will catch up to them. but i still wonder if LVSC is overrating rice. this team appears to be as bad as Temple but the lines still dont seem to reflect it.

you just have to cap it like any other game.

1) will utep win? almost undoubtedly.
2) is utep looking ahead? probably. they play Tulsa who leads their division.
3) Can Rice lose by 20 or more at home? Sure, it happened with Tulsa and Navy already.
4) can utep win by 20 or more on the road? they didnt with nmsu but utep gave up the backdoor after being up 31-0 in the first half. they rolled tulane by 24 away from home.

essentially you are looking at a top 25 team vs one of the worst 5 teams in the country. utep can beat them by 3 td's if they wanted.

maybe utep 1h line would be a safer bet to avoid any backdoor covers with the scrubs in. i think utep will want to remain healthy and get ready for tulsa.

taoist,
You have a good point there, but the bottom line is that I'd hate to be on any of those three this weekend myself...with so many other games to choose from. Now Texas is a different matter, I'd take a shot this weekend on them keeping their perfect side trend going.
gl guys,
