UTSA -3.5 over TAM *****
Love Roadrunners...Jivan and Wallace on top are tough to stop..both can score, penetrate and pass...Jivan is out of control 50 % of the time...but the other 50% he can flat out play...since he has been back he has scored 21,21,22,22,28,20 and 25.... Wallace is a 6'3 slender lefty who has scored 23.18.35,19,20,19,21, and 22...Allen inside is tough and is mobile for his 6'8 frame...Frohnen is a 6'6 power fd. TAM has some decent gds in Smith and South...but its there defense that will have problems tonite...last yr UTSA won 72-58 and has everyone back..Tam did play well losing to Tex St by 6...but they only beat Our Lady of thr lake and Howard Payne 113-83 and won by 50 over Howard..thin the Roadrunners win by double digits..strong play

Student suicides were the worst things I handled as a principal--especially the hangings including one in the school bldg.

just to follow this up...my wife's brother was diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimers...he was just put in " memory facility in Dallas 3 weeks ago...we weren't allowed to visit him for few weeks...never knew anybody with Alzheimers.. it was tough yesterday...the place was modern and new but you are confined to the building...no TV,wi-fi,telephones...just a huge tv screen in the main room with Religious country music playing...it was hard on my wife.. He did know her as his sister but didn't know my wifes name...what a terrible disease...and no cures what so ever...research has found out nothing to stop it or cure it...research has made in roads to cancer,diabetes,etc..but absolutely nothing for alzheimers...anyway don't want to bore anyone

JMU +4 over Fordham **
Rams are 8-3 and at home..they have a super frosh Honor who was named A-10 sorry computer freezing again

Sorry to hear Box,I know what it is like my grandma had it and I remember going to see her and my dad saying don't get upset she won't know who you are.She didn't even know who her son was(my dad) so even though I was a lot younger I still understood. Now older I can just imagine how hard it was for my dad.The sad thing is she had the ability to get around but not the mind to allow her to.My other grandma had MS so she had the mind but not the ability to move, it really is sad getting older and having those limitations.Prayers for all of you involved!!!!

thanks eeerock for sharing...in front of every room they have a window case that you put old family pictures...its a picture that I also have of their parents in the early 60's side by side...riding bikes.. my wife asked her brother "if you knew these 2 people" He said "he didn't" so sad..I have heard of this disease and do know peoples relatives that have it but when it hits 1st hand its so real... Had to pass on Duke-Texas Tech...cheering for TT but Duke at home is so tough...

North Texas playing so well beating New Mex in the pit shows you their real colors...Smart is a stud..thik at home they pour it on thank you old south

You have to see it first hand to see how terrible it is. My dad died last month with it.

The weird things were: he always knew me when I walked in to see him. And, if I caught him when he was confused (lost) I could mention about our days playing golf and he would flash to a golf course or tournament we played in forever ago. Then he would smile. That smile is what I will remember, along with the golf.

Mother in law died from it 5 years ago. It is brutal.

My sympathy to you and Mrs. Box

thanks smax when you think you have experienced everything in life then this happens...does the place not allow w-fi.tv phones etc so the patients don't get frustrated ...is that the reason..does anyone know that..was just wondering...I felt it was like " One flew over the cukoo's nest"...I am not knocking the place but was wondering..also what bothers me more was her brother walked 10 miles everyday around the university ...he had ID on him explaining his condition and many times had to be found... there is a building and wing named after him...but everyone on campus knew his condition and would call his wife ...but it was getting dangerous the past 2 months and she was losing control over him...never angry but always confused...
When we arrived he was was walking the halls ....anyway to depressing...back later with a few games...
doglover not sure if you see this are you going to the game tonite..if so I could use a ticket..if not will just buy one

There are several types of dementia besides Alzheimers.

Outside stimulus (TV etc.) are usually not available to those in severe or end of life stage. Men particularly get aggressive under certain conditions and certain stimuli. There were instances with my Dad where he claimed he was being threatened and attacked. Found out later it was him with the aggressive attitude.

There was TV in his ward. There are various stages which require different treatment with supervision and security. He was initially put in a higher risk ward when he arrived. Meds were changed and he improved remarkably. They moved him to a less secure ward for 8 months. Then he started to slide and was moved back to the other ward. The facility was great. There is nothing worse that I can imagine. I have had people tell me some of these patients stay very pleasant (almost giddy) until the end. That has to be very rare.

I have to believe your brother in law is nearing the end of his ordeal. That said, My mother in law was entering end of life stage and lived 4 more years. My Dad, it took 5 days.

My prayers go out to your family
