Voice remedy: Vanderbilt quarterback Larry Smith said he is taking precautions to keep from losing his voice during the LSU game at 6 p.m. Saturday ? namely drinking honey before that morning.
"One of my teammates told me to drink some honey," he said. "Hopefully that will help."
Smith lost his voice in the second quarter against Northwestern while trying to shout over the crowd noise  , forcing the Commodores to use a silent snap count the rest of the game.
The silent count played a role in the confusion on the two-point conversion attempt in the fourth quarter with Vanderbilt trying to tie the score at 23. The snap sailed past Smith, and the Commodores didn't get to run a play.
"It did affect the two-point conversion. It kind of messed up the assignment a little. But in those situations, we've got to change it back to the regular snap count."
