England continuing to confirm their losing habit after losing to the Prime Ministers XI on Monday.

Sri Lanka were poor in their recent one day series in South Africa, but were without their one world class bowler in Murali. The pressure he creates at one end aids the other bowlers. Sri Lanka look the more likely to progress to the final against Australia. However, the conditions dont suit the Sri Lankians as much as the English and England held the wood over Sri Lanka as little as six months ago. On that basis and against the bookmaker perception, I'll plump for the final to beAUSTRALIA vs. ENGLAND @ 6/4 2 points

Sri Lanka and England both have poor opening attacks and Hayden and Gilchrist could well have a bonanza in the first 15 overs and beyond. Hayden boasts the better form this year but Gilchrist can be destructive and is unlikely to be obmitted when Australia rotate their side for each match. My next bets will be on "Top Series Batsman"HAYDEN @ 7/1 1 point GILCHRIST @ 9/1 1 point

The top series bowlers market makes limited appeal. Warne is short at 3/1 and once again the Aussies are likely to rotate players on a regular basis.

Good luck to all those betting on these series of matches.

Have to back England in Game 1 as the Sydney pitch is a weird one. Can be quite easy to get bogged down and England with bowlers like Irani, Blackwell and Batty have the capability to slow the scoring if need be. Caddick's injury could be a blessing as he has bowled poorly all summer

Pumpkin, your views on the game are respected.

I thought Englands total of +250 was a fair score, yet our bowling let us down again. I feel as the series progresses the bowling will improve. Most of these have only bowled 20 odd overs competitively since late September. There appeared a lack of discipline in line and length and once more the bowlers were continually interupted with field changes several times during the overs.

Against most other opposition this could have been a winning score but the game was taken away by Australia by the 10th over.

I did post earlier that Hayden and Gilchrist could well have a bonanza and after game one, my opinion is further strengthend.

I really do not know how these bookmakers come up with their markets and the odds they offer. If this continues into the World Cup early next year a number of members in this forum are going to make plenty of ????'s and $$$$.
