the land of confusion
Australia v England day-nighter@ the MCG Sunday 15th 2nd One Day International

I'm coming back for more of the following-
Player Performances - 1pt per run, 10 pts per catch, 25 per stumping

A Gilchrist -> 50 and Over @ $1.83. > The guy is on fire

G McGrath -> 40 and Over @ $1.83. (Swap the 25pt stumping for 20pt per wicket) > Rare that he doesn't take a wicket like Friday nights game in Sydney.

M Hayden -> 40 and Over @ $1.83. > The man of the moment

All for a unit each @Bet365.

I've decided to follow you Paraqatsi.

Although England have had some memorable test wins in Melbourne their one-day form under lights is pretty miserable. They've lost five out of six and on the last ashes tour of 1998/9, England lost by margins of 162 runs and nine wickets.

In the first of those defeats Gilchrist, Lehmann and Martyn all made half centuries, while Ponting made 75 not out in the other game.

Infact Ponting has a remarkable record at the MCG. In 22 one-dayers in Melbourne, he's smashed three 100's and ten 50's. He simply has to be backed on bet365's player performance market at 5/6 to score 38 or more.

Ponting has surpassed that figure in seven of the last eight one-day knocks at the MCG, and don't forget catches count too (worth 10 runs).

Another player worth supporting is the man with the golden arm at present, Brett Lee to score 40 or more on the players performance market. That equates to two wickets and after his performances in the third test in Perth and his four wicket haul in Sydney he's full of confidence and steaming in like a train at present. Lee has also made up at 40 or over in four of his last six one-dayers under lights at the MCG and he appears to hold a psychological edge over England at present.

PONTING 38 and over @ 5/6 1 point
LEE 40 and over @ 5/6 1 point

Please forgive me typing errors, it's the early hours of Sunday morning here in the UK and I have been out at a christening all day and only just arrived home the worse for wear (pissed).

2-2 with performance plays. Gilchrist and Ponting both cracking quick centurys to cover but Hayden and McGrath having little impact on the game.

Series to date 3 - 5 @ minus 2.51 units :(

Game 3 on Tuesday in Brisbane with England a chance at their first win in Oz versus a similar level Sri Lanka outfit.

Good call bulldog going 2 from 2. Will wait for your tips on your poms come Tuesday. Get pumped up for that impending victory!!!

Good call on Gilchrist Paraqatsi. Also glad you followed me on Ponting.

BOTH OF THE ABOVE WERE EASY WINNERS.

I was a shade fortunate to also win on my other selection Brett Lee. He needed two wickets and managed to take the last two. Perhaps my luck is taking a change for the better.

On a sad note though, it was unfortunate the injury Warne received after all the trouble he has gone through two years ago with operation to same shoulder. From a personnal point, I hope the guy is not to badly injured and that his return to cricket is a speedily one.
