Virginia Commonwealth ?8
I really like VCU?s chances today at home vs East Tennessee State.
VCU is 2-1, losing at Northwestern 78-73, winning at Rutgers 71-58 and beating Prarie View at home 82-66 last Friday night.
VCU has a lot of depth and three solid scorers in Taylor, Willie and Jones. Taylor is averaging 20+ per game and Jones has stepped up nicely from a part time role to a starter.
East Tennessee State is not as deep but they have a couple of solid guards. They?re a young team and beat Guilford in their first game 90-61, but were trounced by Virginia 85-62 last Sunday night.
VCU will win this game by dominating the boards. East Tennessee?s 6-9 freshman center Cory Seels hasn?t been a factor in his first two games and 6-6 forwards Fields and Wadood have been their team's leading rebounders. These guys will be no match for VCU?s 6-10 center Likcholitov and 6-7 power forward Josh Clark (transfer). VCU is averaging 7 blocked shots per game.
