OK guys finally off to vegas and have some quick questions.

First off im thinking of either staying at the Nugget or the Orleans. Any of you guys here stay at either or both and which would you recommend ? Looking to stay at a slower pace spot off the strip and hit the strip from there.

As far as gambling goes looking for some low limit poker play and a sportsbook, which would fit this better out of the Nugget and Orleans ?

Also some nice tips as far as great eating spots at a decent price would be appreciated. Also a fair priced golf course to hit ?

would you guys reccommend booking the hotel through a site like travelocity etc or booking directly through the hotel website ? Any good sites that would get me a solid rate ?

Thanks in advance for all your helps guys as i value the opinions here.

If it's your 1st time to Vegas, I recommend staying on the strip. When are you going? Heard Golden Nugget has renovations going on and pool is closed until October.

Otherwise if pool not a big deal, Golden Nugget is the best downtown, never been to the Orleans. I think Golden Nugget has good rates due to renovations and has $40 dining credit. Gambling is much better downtown then on the strip. Food is expensive on the strip too, downtown has good food, liked the Golden Nugget buffet and Main Street buffet is good too.

I would book directly with the hotel. Haven't golfed in Vegas and not sure what the poker or sportsbook looks like at either hotel.

Have a great trip!
