Last week I was in Vegas and a number of the casinos had a game called three card poker. Some places delt it by hand and some three cards at a time from the a machine. I was talking to a dealer in the Mirage. She talked me in to playing it I found that the houses odds arent very good. Has anyone else played this game and what are your experinces??? I did pretty well at it the pay offs are really good 40-1 for a straight flush 25-1 for three of a kind. 6-1 for a straight 8-1 for a flush.
I really enjoyed myself. Its very easy to play three cards and its you against the dealer without the dealer able to draw against you like in blackjack.

Bluegrass!
Just remember, these casinos don't have these games to lose money. It might be hard to see, but I guarantee your ass that the odds are stacked in the casino's favorite.

Pai Gow Poker is actually the best table game in terms of odds in the player's favor. It's a fun game and a VERY slow way to lose all your dinero....

I used to play 3-card poker
with some friends back 5..7 years ago, but I didn't know that it allready existed.

Now if they "deal" it, it means that you have no chance to win long term, but the odds don't sound that bad here. Judging by the payoffs, You don't have the option to discard any card, right? Otherwise I know for a fact that 8-1 for a flush would be a real steal considering the other options

Sounds strange something missing. Casinos do not give you odds in your favor. They give free drinks. They give nice room and maybe some company with it. Thats if your a big player. I don't mean kind of big. BIG.

This is a great game! They have had these tables in Tunica, Ms for quite some time. It seems like you money always lasts longer at these tables. The house still has an advantage....but not by much. I've seen many people walk away from the tables as big winners after hitting the straight flush or 3 of a kind.....and trust me....it happens more times than you would think! It is also a very enjoyable game. Someone in Tunica once told me that Vegas would never have this game b/c the odds weren't good enough for the house.

Ormond.....you are correct. The first bet pays at a pair or better (odds) regardless of what the dealer has. The 2nd bet is similar to caribean stud. Dealer must come out with Queen or better. If she doesn't come out....she pays even money. If she does come out....she pays odds.

There is technically only two bets. You have the "elective" top bet where you are betting that you have a pair or better....or you can also have the center bet....where you decide if you want to play your cards against the dealer's three. If you want to play....you simply match the bet. If you don't want to play the dealer...you throw the cards in.
