Well it seems this more recent addition to the strip wants to become a player in the boxing world. I don't think Mandalay Bay or the MGM have to get too worried about this rookie, but one never knows! At any rate, if you check the schedule for April 29 you'll see Victor Cayo who is now fighting Lamont Peterson. It's an ESPN affair and I don't know the undercard and I don't think they have a clue either. I am going to make a visit and see what's what. If they have odds posted, I won't mention it here until the off shores line the fights, if they do at all. Posting lines generates opinions, and I get punchy's concerns about this. Even Graham H. feels any heads up to any odds makers is imprudent, even if they say they don't give a rats rear end what anyone says. I did'nt atend their last card as they wanted a tad too much $$$ for c+/b- level fighters. Plus ,I'm a cheap bastard.

update

Seems now Cayo, the headliner here has pulled out for reasons unknown. Another card that has to be filled with last minute subs. Like I said, the Cosmopolitan isn't scaring anyone.

I was in Cosmopolitan yesterday to cash-in my Ortiz ticket. And they have one of the two sportbook close because of the flood! They are changing floor. And this is almost brand new sportbook!

Flood! WTF. And one of the books looks like a hot dog stand it's so small. I'll remember to bring a towel if I should go there!

Also, major article at new york times.com about Deutsche Banks's investment here. I did'nt realize but the Cosmo, at 4 billion, is the most expensive strip casino ever built. So says the Times. The demographic they designed the joint for are younger party animals, that really DONT' gamble!!! Not a lot anyways. They need a core group of gamblers, and they don't have that. Analysts say it make take ten years for them to make any $$$ on their investment. What a mess. Also not sure about the card this month.

Well I checked a couple of local books, not strip joints, as I live in what you might call the burbs, and no action. It would'nt surprise me if the LV Hilton or MGM/Mirage had some numbers, as they cater to a more diverse crowd. Sorry thongie, but all things being equal, I would have to expect lines of the pick-em variety, same as the offs. If it is VERY important for you to know, and you intend to hammer a line, I would try to do more extensive recon, but that's down the road. I'm talkin multiple dime bets here, not to sound like a butt-hole, I hope. I only make the rounds if I really like a side and intend to bet more than the usual. Hate the traffic.

thanks for the effort

i'll ask my friend to put a play in for me in his offshore account, he has easier method of depositing

i checked the tijuana site, it looks like they wont put up odds, so when i go there tomorrow, i have to bet basketball or something :mj07:

tijuana had the berto-ortiz fight odds up on friday, so this looks like this fight will be off the board

the caliente books south of the border give more credence to fights on HBO

they had gamboa-solis but no rios-acosta :sadwave:
