Seems like alot of folks here is making HUGE $$$$ betting on sports. You guys make it look waaay too easy. I'd be surprised if you guys actually had real jobs. All I can say is if every single bettor strictly followed all of the plays on this site Vegas' sportsbook as well as every local would go BELLY UP....

Very true, but what I'm saying is theoretically if every bettor out there played ONLY the plays posted here they would win every season just like the way you guys do. The casinos and books would get DEMOLISHED. The only way this would work is if ALL PLAYS on this site were followed. Unfortunately for me, I do not live in Vegas and the local I deal with is small time so I'm unable to follow alot of the plays on this site (ML bets, NCAA football o/u, etc.)

Totally true! Plus, everyone here streaks..... good and bad. The 'coat tailer' would have to keep jumping from poster to poster to tail as they streak. I really doubt if you played every play posted by every person every day you would come ahead... The juice would eat up the profit. Too many bets is always a loser. And then bad money mgt; the downfall of even some of the best % winners. And like you said Thunder, the lure of pars, teasers, and props..... all huge house advs.... might as well use a system on roulette... :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

I agree that parlays are HUGE sucker bets because of the odds that are stacked against you...but teasers have been very profitable for me this season (over 70% of my profits have come from teaser plays) and for the smart better that knows how and when to use them.

Keep in mind that the reason that you're laying more juice (-120) for a typical 2 game 6 pointer compared to a side bet is because you have a better chance to win by playing with the points.

Some online books only charge -110 for 6 pt teasers. BetEd would be one example.

parlays are sucker bets but how many have hit at least one and I would rather play a 3 or 4 teamer and lose less cash then play them straight and lose alot more money my worst day this year was when the chargers were -13 against the chiefs I did not win one straight bet and doubled up in the afternoon sometimes a parlay is fun and less of a headache:shrug: ..................sometimes my favorite parlays are the ones that are 0-4 I think of all the $$$$$ I saved especially baseball:142smilie

I don't know what website you are reading but if it's this one there are just as many wrong picks as there are right and the same goes for any other website........if you find a website that wins em all tell me because you and me will be rich and Las Vegas and the offshore books will be broke

We must remember only 7 to 8% end up winning . And as Thunder said only if they use money management. The best info I ever got about sport betting were ideas on that subject.
Just look at names like Root, Doc, Ats, GS, and on and on. At end of many years they are below 50%. And you payed them big bucks to get there. There is no perfect plan here. But it cost zero and you at least win that 400/500 bucks before making a play paying for service.
I have seen many big names come and go since my first play way back in early 60's 1964/65 . Ya im a old fart that learn hard way. Don't play so many games an for sure use some type of money management to give your self a chance. And do not throw money at the can't loses industry.
Everyone does not win. I didn't this year but I had controll of amount lost. NFL up 130 NCCA down 295. Lost 165. Have play on Pitt for 77. By rights I should not play SB. However lost from above is from this year. My pot because I go from year to year is up 1600. So im using 5% of that for my play on Pitt. Hence money management makes it possiable.

It is not easy to tail and win. Especially cappers that add plays through out the day. You miss one winner out of six and you are down instead of up. Another factor especially in MLB is you usually cannot get the same line. You end up playing a different line or buying points in NFL and NBA. In my opinion you are better off learning to cap or finding something that works for you and comparing with the sharp cappers on the site. Very hard to tail a capper for a full season. Good luck though.

So Cal
I've been betting on sports for the last 15yrs.
Some seasons have been great...some have been
a nightmare. I've read lots of books about money
management and self control . Phill Steel wrote a
very interesting book. 10 winning ways , or something like that. really a good read.
The only complaint is how
the guy goe's on about past season success.

what I've learned here at MJ's is there is
some great coattail's and some pretty good fade's.

All you gotta do is figure out were you fit into place... :mj07:

MJ's is the best betting forum on the net.

UMMMMMMMMM.......FOR STARTERS......VEGAS AIN'T SCARED OF THIS WEB-SITE BRO....:scared ...COME ON NOW......THINK ABOUT IT.

SECONDLY. THE GUYS ON HERE THAT WIN CONSISTENTLY EXERCISE EXTREME SELF CONTROL AND WISE MONEY MANAGEMENT.

THIRDLY. EVERY HANDICAPPER HAS LOSING STREAKS. THE GOOD ONES RECOGNIZE ONE HAPPENING AND BACK OFF A BIT.

LASTLY. THERE ARE LOTS OF GUYS THAT ARE JUST STRAIGHT UP FULL OF SHIT.

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FUTURE WAGERS.

I'm guilty has charged! Hit around 60% this year, but when you bet x 10 your ave play after a few shots and beers and lose 80% of these large plays, than you have to take your medicine. should no better but some habits are hard to change. Still boat loads of fun.

Lets not get on our high horse about parlay players and teaser players.Unless a person is betting the EXACT SAME amount on all games you are slanting the odds towards the oddsmaker.Playing one game for say 7%or 8% of your bankroll and others for 3% or 4 % is not professional level money management.A loser on the bigger plays wiping out two winners of the smaller percentages.Anyone who tells you its ok to bet more on one game then the other is deluding themselves that they are a superior money manager. One doesn't really know which play is better than the other before they start, that is the illusion, its called weighted betting, and uniformly almost everyone at madjacks does it.If you do bet more on one play than the other, you aren't a good mathematician or moneymanager.

three rules to suck-cess in wagering

1)always go against PUBLIC money (who's got more bets in Superbowl now?)
2)GET as many points as you can while following rule 1
3)Check frequently FREE picks SITES, and wager AGAINST THOSE picks ALWAYS

you'd be amazed how many WINS you may get on those simple rules

And always make sure to let everyone know that tonight's game is the fourth leg on five four team parlays you have going at "the bar".
