I've been hearing reports that Vegas is a virtual ghost town right now.

Can anyone out there confirm?

How long do you think this will continue for?

very dead, lots of cut backs at the major resorts.
gambling does-not run this town, its conventions and they are taking a huge hit, millions of $$$ lost most things have cancelled till mid nov. this is a major set back for families who have people working in all casino and resorts. and it will take awhile for it to make a come back out here,i am talking a big hit and it will get worse there are meetings everyday at the resorts and cut backs everyday it has really hurt people with more to come and it all goes down hill with people not having the money to spend for shopping, going out to eat, recreation and travel. it hurts to hear about this some familes have both partners working in the field who have been let go. its bad, worse then people hear right now.

The ripple effect of this tragedy is absolutely amazing. 100,000 layoffs in the airline industry is getting all the attention, but resorts are going to be hit just as hard.

I hope this isnt a permanent thing, b/c that is what the terrorists were going for. If we're truly going to beat them, we need to get back to our normal lives as quickly as possible.

I guess if ya really think about it, airline travel is probably the safest it's ever been in the history of the U.S. I realize it's hard to swallow, but it's more than likely true. The heightened security at all the domestic airports makes it virtually impossible that we'll see the same tragedy as last week. HOWEVER, I don't believe anyone knows for sure how long this extra security will last.
