This course has tended to be one of the harder on the Senior circuit.

With the new boys yet to make an impact, a few of the old hands appeal:

Dana Quigley can be backed at 66/1 with Stan James, who continue to price up as though they haven't watched any Senior events this year!

Doug Tewell is not the most consistent of players, but he is pretty accurate off the tee and is too big at 50/1.

Old favourite Tom Jenkins returned to form last week and he has a fair record round here. 40/1 in places, Stan James and Hills go 80/1.

It is bizarre about Quigley and I have to join in
OK here's my longshot of the week - Jim Dent 3rd last week and 2 top 4's here in 1999 and 2000 - OK Hills are very skimpy at 33 but I'll bite for a few quid at 160/1 Centrebet (150/1 Stan James)

Outright plays (1 unit unless otherwise stated):

Allen Doyle to win 16/1 e.w. @ NetBetSports
Familiar look to this week's selections. Doyle returns after having been an extremely profitable selection last year. Top-5 finishes from three starts is enough evidence that he is starting to return to his 2001 title of the most consistent golfer on Tour and with a nice progression of 12th, 8th, 6th in the last three years on this course, how can he fail to secure a top-6 spot?

Doug Tewell to win 28/1 e.w. @ Bet365
Rather missed the boat - or is that the gravy train? - on Tewell and Quigley this week. Once again they are retained, but odds of 50/1 on Tewell and 66/1 on Quigley had been available at Stan James! No great form on this course, but Tewell is another consistent performer who, though yet to reach Doyle's heights on this Tour, should challenge week in, week out.

Dana Quigley to win 50/1 e.w. @ Centrebet
With finishes of 4th, 14th and 5th this year and 2nd and 9th on this course in the last two years, how can you not back him at these odds?

Outrights @ Surrey
Jacobs 50/1 My exacts thoughts Stan
Gil Morgan 20/1 will give him a couple more shots @ these odds till I throw in the towel on him.

Also adding 1st rd @ 5dimes
Quig -111 over Jacobs
Got double dipped on this ploy on one I liked just as well if not better last week. looking for revenge.

54-hole plays (1 unit unless otherwise stated):

Allen Doyle to beat Don Pooley -122 @ Five Dimes
Good course form and with a good shot of winning this event, the 2001 Charles Schwab Cup winner is simply the better player. Pooley is a consistent top-20 player, but rarely better.

Tom Purtzer to beat Don Pooley -120 @ Bet365 [2 units]
Strong performances from Purtzer so far this year and it will only be a matter of time before he wins his first Senior Tour title. Once again, Pooley is paired with a much better player.

Dana Quigley to beat John Jacobs -105 @ Five Dimes [3 units]
Jacobs has certainly been the surprise player of the 2002 season so far, but he came back down to earth with his opening 77 last week. It remains to be seen if the bubble has burst, but he should find it difficult to maintain this form on a course on which he has broken par just twice in 15 rounds. Siding again with Quigley at a very attractive price.

Just wanted to thank you guys here for all of your input. I play very little golf but like to read your writeups, and someday would like to be knowledgeable enough to handicap (although I am playing too many sports already). Last week I placed a small wager on Olazabal to win at 45-1, and turned on the TV Sunday to see the last 5-6 holes. It was great fun, and I owe it all to a couple of guys here. By the way, I do not have many outs for golf but I did place 3 small wagers to win a couple of minutes ago on Jenkins 70-1, Quigley 55-1 and Jacobs 45-1 all at 5 dimes. Good luck to all the outstanding cappers here. By the way Stanley I have been doing a little research at your website and all the info there is very helpful.

Will try and ride Quid on 2nd rd play after his cover yesterday
Quig +107 over Tewell @ 5dimes
Tewell has not finished than higher than Quig in any of 3 events
in common this year, and while ratings are tit for tat Quig has much superior course form.

SportsStudent: Would like to thank you for alert on senior outrights @ 5dimes. Been there forever but never been aware they had outrights on the beards even if win only option is available.

After todays disastaer is it time for Dana Quigley to join the list of BOTTLERS in the last 3 weeks he has played some great stuff to get himself into contention only to fade dramatically when the pressure is applied this week after 32 holes he was 10 under the eventual winning score and faded out of the frame once again , thankfully I had a bet on Tewell with Simon Bold @ 9/1 this morning still paying 4 places which saved the day.Doonhamer

Final update:

Matchups: 2-1-0; +1.60 units

Doyle/Pooley WON by 4
Purtzer/Pooley LOST by 1
Quigley/Jacobs WON by 5

Outrights: 1-2; +15.50 units

Doyle 12th
Tewell 1st :D
Quigley 7th

Back to normal service on the most profitable Tour of 2001 :) Quigley had been the leader after the 1st round and had every chance to at least secure a place win, but at least Tewell delivered the goods. Only irritation on the week was Purtzer losing by a shot to Pooley.

Senior PGA Tour ytd
Matchups: 5-3; +4.53 units
Outrights: 3-9; +14.25 units
