Outright plays (total stake per play: 1pt)

Geoff Ogilvy to win 16/1 e.w. @ BetInternet [6 places]
Australians continue to struggle in the Masters, but it is a different matter in this event, winning the title in each of the last two years. With respect to Ogilvy, he has been in contention in three of the last four years and is certainly capable of improving on his 3rd place finish of 2003. He has shown very good form recently, particularly in finishing 3rd in the CA Championship and was challenging for the lead last week until a nine at the 15th hole on Saturday. Masters fatigue does not tend to be a factor in this event as only three of the last 25 winners had missed the cut at Augusta the previous week, so I am expecting Ogilvy to carry on his fine form and be the player to beat this week.

Rod Pampling to win 66/1 e.w. @ Victor Chandler and William Hill
An example of the lack of a 'Law of Hilton Head' is Pampling. His 6th place finish in 2005 immediately followed a 5th place finish in the Masters. And like Ogilvy, he has been very much in contention in three of the last four years. His driving accuracy has been strong over the last couple of months and that will put him in good stead around this "thinking man's course". But the ability to play in the coastal winds is also a bit help and may explain why Australians have done so well here. He has won twice in the last three years on the PGA Tour and this week should be one of his better weeks for adding a third.

Jose Coceres to win 66/1 e.w. @ BetDirect
Coceres has also won twice on this Tour, but notably one of those wins came in this event in 2001. He has struggled with injury in the intervening years, but has still finished 9th and 11th in two of the last three years here and now, fully fit again, he has been very close to adding another victory this year, losing in playoffs in consecutive weeks last month. In fact, if he had completed enough rounds, he would be the #1 ranked player in scoring average on the PGA Tour at the moment. Odds of 66/1 against a former winner in such good form appear to be extremely generous!

Hey fellas, I will be fading Zack this week. I think he will be overvalued. He doesnt have a good track record here. He will be flying to letterman on monday and GMA tuesday, so Jet lag will kick in, as well as a let down. Hopefully i can get him vs ames or someone like that.

Trahan among quartet of Tigers coming to Heritage
From staff reports
Published Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Four former Clemson all-Americans -- D.J. Trahan, Lucas Glover, Charles Warren and Jonathan Byrd -- have committed to the 39th Annual Verizon Heritage, to be played April 9-15 at Harbour Town Golf Links.
Trahan (pictured with caddie Todd Sunderland), who learned the game at Harbour Town, where his father was an instructor, paced the 2003 Tigers to the NCAA team title. Trahan, who now resides in Mt. Pleasant, won the 2006 Southern Farm Bureau Classic.

The 27-year old Glover, who's won more than $2 million each of the past two seasons, crashed the PGA Tour's winner's circle in 2005 by capturing the Funai Classic at the Walt Disney World Resort. The Greenville native enjoyed nine top-10 finishes last season.
Warren, who also resides in Greenville, made 20 of 27 cuts last season. He was the NCAA individual champion in 1997.

Byrd, a native of Anderson who recently moved to St. Simons Island, Ga., was a three-time all-American at Clemson.

Damn you noticed the same thing i saw with that leaney matchup.

Leaney played great here last year. He has awful ball striking numbers for the year.. but his last 2 events hes been really sharp. + Aussies play well on this course. Good find ( give you mad props) I had this circled as my first play, just waitin for the greek to post it and then i was gonna post it here. G Luck Steve

Byrd (-115) over Wilson
Leaney (-135) over Carl Petterson
Cink (-135) over Immelman
Geoff Ogilvy (-135) over Davis Love 3rd
Jeff Maggert (-124) over Joe Durant
Stephen Ames (-125) over Zack Johnson
Bernhard Langer (-125) over Camillo Villegas
( 72 Holes )

Taking a local kid here. Grew up in Anderson, played college golf at Clemson. Now lives in St Simons.. he has been playing pretty well lately. Also had a nice tourney going last year before he wd.

Kind of worried about fading love.. but ogilvy has been pretty solid lately besides that 9..

Ames and langer are my biggest bets out of the group.. they are all to win 1.5 units except for ames to win 2.

I played High School golf against DJ Trahan (high school stroke avg: 32.9) and Lucas Glover. both great players and think those 2 and J. Byrd should do well at this tournament. DJ is actually from Hilton Head so its like a home track for him.. Good Luck with your plays guys!!!!!!

Ive been following 3 golfers closely. DJ Trahan is one. Check his last few results. He was god awful to begin the year.. he is starting to make cuts now:shrug: Other players who are getting in the groove are Maggert, Ohair, Gore and a few others. Its important to notice them early so you can find the value before the books catch on.
That clemson golf team was awesome.. almost as good as my dogs, with bubba watson and imada.

Cashed 8 out of 9 Masters bets, mostly on overs on daily scores. I'm taking Furyk (2nd last 2 yrs) in a 2 team money line parley over Els and Love. Furyk had a quiet Masters but still finished 13th. All 3 have great form on this course but feel Furyk is in better form than either of them. Pays +160, furyk is only +800 against the field. GL Toto
