...these two meet on June 7th for the WBC light middleweight title.

Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville, Connecticut.

Anybody think Sergio Mora is worth a small investment at +300 ???

You can get +425 at other books, it might be worth a small shot as I could see this being a competitive fight, but I still think Forrest wins

Thanks a lot BOXLOCKS.... i'll definitely look into that... I feel like there is a clear edge at anything + 350 or better...

I, too, feel like this one could get interesting... gonna drop a small play.

Sorry but...
I think Mora is a bum and will be way outclassed by Forrest.
He has no power whatsoever and has never faced an "A" level fighter before.
I'm surprised Mora isnt a bigger underdog than he is.

A few years ago I would have given Mora a chance but he has looked like complete and utter shit recently.

At one point he was very elusive with quick hands. Now he seems to get hit at will. This will not be a good thing when he fights Forrest.

Im going to hold u to that, Sponge... :142smilie

I think everyone here agrees Forrest deserves to be the heavy favorite, but surprise surprise gambling is not just about picking winners.

Just feel like it could be competitive, thats all. Mora is worth a small play IMO.

Here was my comments when the line opened:

"Forrest will crush Mora, this fight is a mismatch. Forrest isn't the type of fighter to erode with age, and Mora has absolutely no power to hold him off. He's better in every way.

Forrest walks him down and knocks him out with no fear of retaliation. The KO comes in 9 -11 after Forrest sweep the first 8, +161 is great.

I would keep maxing this out until it hits -700, buy I can't afford to have money tied up until June 7, and really, 10$ is worthless no matter how easy you get it."

I played -500 twice thinking it would rise to -700, and played under +161. I bought back the under and will play Forrest inside big.

Forrest should steam roll this guy to get his final big payday, hopefully vs Mayorga. The only concern is his left arm and shoulder, if it fails him he'll have to box to a one-handed decision, if it's 100%, look for a brutal KO.

... though rumor has it Forrest is dating a hot young pornstar, hope she isn't distracting him from training!

"the bunker"
honestly...i thought forrest would walk until i realized,"hey, the guy`s 37 years old"....thankfully,these odds were so steep they even precluded forrest from being any kind of helpful parlay fodder.....

and imo, that was the difference...forrest was having his way early, and around the 5th or so,he hit the wall .......he was complaining in his corner that he was winded....father time does that to old folks...

i`d like to go back to the glove issue...i noticed it right off the bat...forrest wearing pillow-like "grants" while mora was wearing compact little everlast gloves.....at first i thought it was the green and white 2-tone color of forrest`s gloves that gave the illusion of being almost sparring type gloves...

mora`s were tight, round and compact...forrest`s were almost square looking and were more heavily padded...i thought it was an illusion, but, now i`m sure it wasn`t...i`m sure they must`ve both been using 10 oz. gloves because this was fought at jr middle and not welter....

if anybody taped the fight, take a look...i`m not shittin` you...

i`m not sayin` mora won because of the gloves..forrest`s age did him in imo....but,being the puncher in the fight,i don`t think his wearing those pillows was a very smart move....

just sayin`...

heres a comment i pulled off a boxing forum awhile back after another fight i watched had me questioning the glove brand...

""""Grant gloves are comparable to having goose-down pillows strapped to your fists, they are way too wide and were designed for defense moreso than for offense, Reyes gloves are still built for power punchers, they are more sleek and can cut thru the guard easier than Grant's....YES, Grant's do look better than Reyes or Everlast or Winning brand gloves, but I'd rather see KO's than flashy gloves"""....

Phew.... lucky there was no knockout.. I like biggy fries. :mj07:

I did see the one right that staggered Forrest a little that had me a tad bit worried but Mora couldn't knock me out. Again at the last moment i was gonna bet Mora and i didn't The story of my whole day of betting. I did get in on Lopez tho so it wasn't a total waste of a day.

I actually havent seen the fight yet.. just read some articles that Mora 'took over' in the later rounds...

I had a lot more riding on UFC 85 and of all my picks yesterday, Mora i was least confident in.. always feel pretty lucky to win those kinds of bets..

Maybe ill win some biggie fries next time.. :SIB
