This is the old Southern Farm Bureau tournament, that used to be held in September. This year, with the new sponsor, Viking, are they the window people?, probably not, this year is even more meaningless than ever before. As far as big guns go, yes. As far as guys trying to get in the top 125, no. Most people and bettors, and bookies are golfed out by now. I'm not though.

Annanburg CC in Madison Ms. I think I remember Annanburg as an old Civil War historical site. Maybe not. The country club is an easy par 72 layout. 20 under or around that will do the job. Can you imagine shooting 4--- 67's and lose? I can't.

Toms is the fav here and a local guy of sorts. He really hasn't done anything for a few years now, I don't expect him to win this either. Fowler is making noise. He reminds me of Sergio when he first made the scene. I think Fowler is better though. Sim is quietly ready to win. He has 3 Nationwide wins this year already. He's the best guy no one's ever heard of right now. My choice though is....

Bill Haas to win 31.00 sia

I wanted longer odds, I don't know why he's so short this week. Being a non-winner and all. He does play this course well, and he's fairly warm too. Haas will win someday, I feel it. I also feel Sim and Fowler will win sooner though. I'm sticking with Bill however.

Webb Simpson over Ben Curtis +100

I don't know a lot about these guys except that Simpson has been playing better than good these last few weeks. Curtis is a big question mark. I have played on Curtis many times and he has never cashed for me. What does that tell ya'?

Round 1 play (1pt):

Troy Matteson to beat Michael Bradley/Chris DiMarco +110 @ Sportingbet
No two-ball matchups stand out at the available price, this does at odds-against. Bradley has played here four times in the last five years and missed the cut every time with a scoring average of 73.75 while DiMarco has played here just once this decade, missing the cut that time with a scoring average of 74 around Annadale. By contrast, Matteson has played here twice and finished 8th and 14th (scoring average: 69.38). And it's not just their histories at Annandale that favour Matteson, neither of his opponents have finished ahead of him in any event for over two months. In fact, the only concerns here are (i) a let-down effect from winning last week's event; and (ii) the wet weather that is forecast.
