Three keys for Virginia
1. Survive the loss of cornerback Chris Cook. Cook, the Cavaliers' top defensive back, is expected to miss today's game with a sprained knee. With Cook out, the Huskies will challenge his backups: Redshirt freshmen Mike Parker and Trey Womack and true freshman Ras-I Dowling will play bigger roles.
2. Overcome the absence of tailback Cedric Peerman. The ACC's second-leading rusher, Peerman hurt his right foot last weekend and probably won't play today. His replacements, Keith Payne and Andrew Pearman, will face a UConn defense that's allowing an average of only 89.2 yards rushing per game.
3. Avoid passing-game mistakes. With 11 interceptions, UConn is tied for fifth nationally. U.Va. needs a clean game from quarterback Jameel Sewell, who threw a costly fourth-quarter interception last weekend at Middle Tennessee.
