VIRGINIA TECH ?22.5 (Saturday) - The 5th ranked Hokies have already beaten the kings of the MAC this season, routing Marshall 47-21 in a game that was not even that close, so why should they have difficulty with this MAC team? Virginia Tech is now 4-0 on the year, outscoring their opponents by a hefty 27.4 points per game. They have not had the easiest of schedules either, defeating Marshall, LSU, and Texas A&M in the last 3 games, making their gaudy stats that much more impressive. It also helps that the strength of the Tech offense plays into the weakness of the WMU defense, as they Hokies are averaging a potent 244.5 rushing yards per game while the Broncos are allowing 172.0 yards per game on the ground. Western Michigan is just 1-2, with the lone victory coming against Division I-AA Indiana State. Granted they have played a difficult schedule, losing to Michigan and Purdue, but this Virginia Tech team is stronger than either of those teams, so I look for a safe Hokies win by around 30 points.
