second year pirate coach joe dooley did pretty well recruiting last year and definitely upgraded his roster. keydets a perennial socon cellar dweller, never known for stellar road play. they return several starters off a bad team, but none averaged more than 10 ppg. dooley reignited some interest in pirate basketball last year by producing an improved product, highlighted by some nice home upset wins. this just feels like a double digit ecu win.

I actually handicapped this game and won also,, but ECU has so many new players..think its 11..how did Gardner do? VMI won 4 games last yr and cannot play any defense and ECU lost its best player to transfer...so didn't post ...but it was close but Pirates covered nice job

thanks o/s and b+1, keep an eye on dooley, he's impressed me with the way he's turned things around in greenville. no more dead weight on the roster, got the alumni behind him, even got a face lift for minges coliseum. vmi stayed close in the first half while dooley let a lot of new faces get court time. gardner smoked them, something like 32 points and 11 assists. im curious to see what they do in conference this season.
