Initially I say rechedule the week. However, the question I have is if you reschedule the week, will that push the Superbowl back a week and thus screw up any plans that are already made such as the MadJack Las Vegas Superbowl Family reunion?

Push back the playoffs by a week, and remove the week off before the Super Bowl.

If we do not make this week up, San Diego will play 16 games, with the rest of the NFL playing 15. I suppose they could rewrite the rest of the NFL schedule to avoid this, but is it really worth it just to keep that open week in January?

I feel the same as you- remove that week off and push the playoffs forward to that week and play the games that should have been played this week at the end of the original planned schedule

Eliminate the wild card game. We still could have a 16 game season and we could eliminate one needless playoff game. BTW, as it stands 29 teams will play 15 games, San Diego will play 16; and Arizona will play 14. The NFL brought this problem on themselves; their obsession w/getting that 31st team.

One thing for sure they will do what ever they want to do. I'll put out big odds they don't ask for our help.

You got that right. They didn't seem to notice the polls showing 60-70% or so of fans who wanted football this weekend.

BTW - I've seen a few places that Arizona would play only 14 games. They had last week off, they will not play this week. But, there are still 15 weeks left after this one, and they've had their bye week. Am I missing something?

I've heard too that there is no week off this year before the Super Bowl. That throws a wrench in the works if it's true.

BTW - just confirmed that there is no off-week between the Conference Championships and the Super Bowl. Looks like the NFL will only have two Wild Card teams this year.

Why can't they play 2 games in one week?
Lets say they play a game on wednesday and aonther on sunday. Now, i know there will be soar players and some injuries but every team would be going through the same thing.
Have this perhaps in the middle of the season like late october. I know the coaches and players would not like this but every team has the same scenario. This would bring back the wild card. I know it sounds crazy but it's the only thing i can think of.

God Bless America

I'm changing my mind. There's just no need for 2 weeks between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl. They can still get a 16 game season. But can the NFL live without that extra week of hype, publicity and overmarketing? The rest of us certainly can.....
