The Vice President of the free world makes almost 40% as much as Ray Durham, the second baseman for the San Francisco Giants. A horrible player the past year and a half.

Or almost 15% as a leading actor makes for a big film.

How could you be that powrful and famous and not manage to make $3 million. How hard can it be?

He could of made more but he would have to pay taxes on it so unlike the poor baseball player who makes so much and pays so much tax Cheney decided F it. Too bad we tax these big guys or they could make more. I mean who wouldn't want to make baseball player or leading actor money? But that dang tax holds us back.

I'm as critical of Cheney as anyone, but I haven't seen anything specific he received in salary or benefits from Halliburton for last year (other than his V.P. job to begin with, thanks to the company and connections, but that's another well-traveled thread). Any links to specific Halliburton income? Would of course welcome that info...;)

If he gets anything now it's in a "blind" trust. Of course there are always future favors errr jobs. But why would he want more. I was reading those other threads where these poor ba$tards get taxed on the millions they make.:scared

Stevie in their defense they are the producers of our society. We are pieces or garbage. How dare anyone ever tax them. Might scare them right into wanting to be poor.

Oh Boy I was corrected. The VP salary was rasied to 205 two years back. Stll all the sports stars get so much more. But do they get there whole life free. Heck VP gets everything payed for. Everything. Even free toilet paper. When your a big ass like Chenney thats alot of paper.
Blind trust are a joke when your running a war that helps the companies you know dam well your invested in.

Vice President Dick Cheney and Mrs. Cheney Release 2007 Income Tax Return

White House News

Vice President and Mrs. Cheney filed their federal income tax return for 2007 today.

The income tax return shows that the Cheneys owe federal taxes for 2007 of $602,651 on taxable income of $2,528,068. During the course of 2007 the Cheneys paid $466,165 in taxes through withholding and estimated tax payments, and will pay the remaining $136,486 upon filing their tax return.

The wage and salary income reported on the tax return includes the Vice President's $212,208 government salary. In addition, the tax return reports a pension benefit of $32,500, which the Vice President received as a former director of Union Pacific Corporation. The Vice President became eligible for this benefit in 2006 when he turned 65. The tax return also reports Mrs. Cheney's book royalty income, a salary from her continuing work at the American Enterprise Institute, and a pension benefit of $32,000, which she received as a former director of Reader's Digest. The amounts of the pension benefits received by the Vice President and by Mrs. Cheney are fixed and will not increase or decrease regardless of changes in the earnings or revenues of either company.

The Cheneys donated $166,547 to charity in 2007. This brings the Cheneys' total charitable contributions during his Vice Presidency to $ 7,966,566.

Thats wonderful. You know where most of the Cheney''s money comes from? The broken back of the tax payer. This is almost as laughable as if the oil companies donated some money. Those gas goughers can donated a billion dollars a day and still be the biggest dirtbags on earth. Next to Cheney that is. I had an Aunt like this. Lied and lied and lied and then went to church three times a week to clean her soul. Wonderful lady.
