"(Quail Hollow) asks a lot of tough questions about your game." ~ Ernie Els
Outrights:
Boo Weekley(50/1) e.w.
- - I don't pick up a winning marker without strong reasons for doing so. After Boo won in 2007, it was the only time I ever picked up a winning marker and then made a wager against the player the following week (Boo shot in the 80's and comfortably lost his matchup) . . . I have had a 120-180 degree different expectation for Boo after cashing in on his win in 2008, and my marker ain't budging.
Stewart Cink(25/1) e.w.
- -
- - The player most due a win on the 2008 season is . . . Lee Westwood, head and shoulders above, IMO, by the ANGLES and INFORMATION that inform my decisions on Outrights (although value questions are a different layer of inquiry) . . . but Cink and Stenson then line up behind . . .
Davis Love(125/1) e.w.
- - Beginning with his first hole in Houston, every sign has pointed to an upswing in his game along with a good attitude about the game. Even though two steps forward can be followed by one step back, I see Davis on the verge of something close to the best his 44 year old self has in him, and these next few venues come at a good time for giving that hypothesis a fair test.
Geoff Ogilvy(20/1) e.w.
- - "(Quail Hollow) asks a lot of tough questions about your game." ~ Ernie Els
Lucas Glover(50/1) e.w.
- - Ask me for the names of some players "streaky good", and Paul Casey and Rory Sabbatini come immediately to mind. Maybe Lucas Glover wants to challenge for a spot in my conventional wisdom.
Stephen Ames(66/1) e.w.
- - Something is holding him back that he might be capable of overcoming, might not.
