Wake Forest has lost 14 straight to Florida State and hasn't won a college football game in Tallahassee since 1959. This could be the year that all changes. Inside sources at SBG Global tell us that the public feels the same way with most wagers on Wake Forest.

18th-ranked Wake Forest (8-1, 4-1) is in a first-place tie with No. 23 Maryland in college football's Atlantic Division. The Demon Deacons are seeking to win nine games for the first time in school history. ''You don't expect them to be up there,'' Florida State coach Bobby Bowden said. ''It seemed like they had more guys coming back than anybody in the conference. There ain't no rookies out there.'' Florida State (5-4, 3-4), has dropped four ACC games for the first time but they are favored by more than a TD in this football game.

Florida State is an 8.5 point home favorite at SBG Global.

''You've just got to look at the past. Florida State has a great college football history, great tradition every year, great athletes - they recruit what's said to be the best athletes in the country,'' Demon Deacons linebacker Stanley Arnoux said. ''And we're just lil' ol' Wake Forest.'' ''It's a little bit of a wake-up call for our kids - we're 8-1, we're ranked, all that kind of stuff, but in the end we're going down to Florida State as underdogs,'' coach Jim Grobe said. ''If you think you've arrived in collge football, nobody else thinks you have.''

Wake Forest's defense has forced 12 turnovers in the last six games. Josh Gattis has one interception in four straight contests and safety Patrick Ghee has three for the year.

Florida State quarterback Xavier Lee will make his third straight start. Lee started in place of an injured Drew Weatherford on Oct. 28 at Maryland. The Seminoles still need to win one of their final two games to become eligible for a 25th straight college football bowl appearance.

''It matters on the bowls; we can possibly get a bowl game out of this,'' Lee said. ''It's also about pride, we're on our home field, and we need to finish up with some wins.''

#21 Oregon @ #7 USC
Saturday, 10:15 pm Eastern
FSN
Opening Line: USC - 7.5

No. 7 USC faces off with 21st-ranked Oregon in Los Angeles on Saturday to open a three-game home stretch. This is the toughest stretch of the season for USC (7-1, 5-1), which also plays No. 8 California and No. 9 Notre Dame at home before a season-ending game against UCLA at the Rose Bowl. SBG Global reports that the offshore betting public has lost all respect for Trojans with a majority of money on Oregon.

''Everything is going to happen in L.A.,'' said head coach Pete Carroll. ''It's been a long year on the road with a lot of trips and stuff. Now we have the benefit of being home the rest of the season, and we have to make the most of it.'' The Trojans still have a good chance to represent the Pac-10 in the Rose Bowl.

USC is an 8 point home favorite at SBG Global.

USC trails Cal by one game in the conference standings, with the winner likely to play the loser of the Ohio State-Michigan game in Pasadena. ''We can't control what happens,'' receiver Dwayne Jarrett said. ''The only thing we can control is us. All we can do is keep winning and playing hard and at the end of the season we'll see what happens.''

USC is coming off a 42-0 rout of Stanford last Saturday. The win came a week after a 33-31 loss to Oregon State, the team's first regular-season loss in more than three years.

''People thought after that loss to Oregon State, we'd just tumble and fall,'' linebacker Rey Maualuga said. ''I feel like we came out and made a statement. We're coming and we're hungry.''

This is the first time USC has hosted Oregon (7-2, 4-2) since a 28-17 loss in 2000. The Ducks (7-2, 4-2) are coming off a 34-14 win over Washington last week, giving them back-to-back wins for the first time since starting the season 4-0. The Trojans lead the all-time series 35-15-2, but Oregon is 4-3 in the last seven meetings.
