Heading to moms house (2 miles away), was tight on time and a tad heavy on the gas peddle.....I come around the corner 42 in a 30, BUSTED.....Pissed that I never received the courtesy flicking of the lights from the truck making the corner in the opposite direction.....The Sheriff never parks there, it's always a mile down the road at the airport, THIS IS ENTRAPMENT!!!!.....Blue lights come on and I slowly pull over to the safest spot I could get to.

Two Sheriff Officers jump out of the car, one a 20 something male, profession and direct....The second a early 20's female, very nervous and still wet behind the ears.....I pull out my license, roll down my window and watch them approach from the rear view mirror....Both place their hands and their holster and unclipped them, DAMN shit just got REAL.....Both of my hands go on the wheel....The officer explains why he pulled me over, I acknowledge that he was correct.....He asked if I was heading Black Friday Shopping, I said no that I was heading to care for my mom (weak attempt at mercy, but maybe effective---we'll see)

The male officer barks out license, registration and proof of insurance (aww, the insurance card I just asked my wife to switch over last week because the one in the glove box had expired, oh yeah that one) ......I hand him my license and say the registration & insurance are in the glove box....I received the ok to open the box, I moved slowly and watched their hands out of the corner of my eye, I handed the paperwork to him.....I kept thinking to myself, wow how times have changed---two officers with their hands on their guns within feet of me, DAMN

Mr. Sportsaholic your insurance expired in September......I explained we have a new card but I wasn't sure if it had made it to the car yet, I apologized.....The Officer said to sit tight and they will be right back....I haven't had a ticket since I was 18, 36 years ago....It was a hell of a run I thought.....

About 4 mins later the Officer comes back and hands me my paperwork....."I'm just going to issue a warning, please slow down and get your updated insurance card in the car".....I thanked them both, shook his hand and wished them both a Happy Holiday........

They had every right to write me a ticket on the spot, I screwed up.....They were doing their job, I showed them respect and we both left the stop happy (especially my wallet)........:0008

wow..just wow is all I can say. Reminds me of a time not that long ago when the world was a better place to live and people actually respected each other.

You must be a Homophobic, Racist, Serial Killer, Pedophile, NAZI! Just joking.

It doesn't hurt to be polite to them. Sometimes it doesn't get you out of ticket but what do you have to lose?

Wow! Amazing what a little respect will do! Just polite and courtesy goes a long ways. I'm sure FDC believes your civil rights were violated because you were pulled over and asked for your license. Great story.

Sport's isn't it great being white ! Happy that everything turned out OK.

Are suggesting if he were black he would have been automatically shot and killed..

Tell me....how many interactions do police have with black people across the country on a daily basis?? Thousands? Tens of thousands?

And what percentage of these people are shot for no reason each year like you are suggesting?

.0001 maybe?

Yet you and the FDC ilk like pretend the police are murdering innocent blacks on whim everyday..

One of my best friends here in our mostly all white suburb of Columbus gets pulled over about once every 6 weeks. He doesn't get tickets either, just pulled over. His white wife tells me it is unbelievable how often it happens. Luckily, he just gets warnings too. I think we all experience the world in different ways.
