great call with Argentina - that was easy... that under was a little trickier... but who could have guessed that they would score 6 goals - impressive :SIB

go netherlands!

argentina is on the top of their game

I really thought the game would be 1-0, maybe 2-0. serbia and montenegro only gave up 1 goal in qualifying and they were in the same qualifying group as spain! they played spain 2 times in qualifying and tied both times 0-0 and 1-1. and then yielded but one goal to the netherlands. surprising to say the least anyway, on to the netherlands, good luck to you hippo!! :SIB

What are your (or anyone else's) thoughts after watching all these teams in the first round - who are your 3 favorites? I have Spain to win it all, and I want to put smaller wagers on two other teams... any ideas? I was thinking Argentina and Brazil, but I'm not sure that their odds will be worthwhile when they come back up... any creeper teams?

Spain, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil

I have been thinking Ecuador a lot recently... could be a good one to throw in... they looked impressive in the first two games. Should be a great game vs. Germany next week...

as far as a creeper team, well those are limited. However, ecuador needs to be respected for what they have done already and I think they have a shot to make some noise down the line, win it all tho, I'd have to say thats doubtful. Brazil's odds can't be good as far as a big payday is concerned. Spain could make some noise but I think it is too early to tell about them. They have a tendency to underachieve on the world stage but certainly looked great vs. ukraine. the teams that I bet on before the tourney started are

portugal

italy

argentina

the dutch

the jury is still out tho on croatia, portugal, italy, spain and mexico because they have only played once. germany looks alright, I am not to impressed w/ them so far. When the Brits turn it on which they are yet to do they will be a force to be reckoned with.

definitely like argentina, mexico, england, brazil and ecuador as the sleeper.

really looking forward to seeing the next games by portugal and spain and obviously the italians (altho I will be pulling for the states) as these 3 could be serious contenders

I really think the ivory coast are the best african team

unfortunate for them to draw this group

they look good and will probably beat serbia, if they don't draw the dutch :scared :scared

I love the Dutch to win it all...this team is amazing, and I think they have what it takes to beat a very-well rounded Brazil team with superstars at almost every position...very rairly do you see a team where Ronaldo is the 2nd or 3rd best player on the field

sorry to disagree but Argentina has one of the best assembled team and players in every position...just look at the names and the teams they play in...only 3 play in Argentina and most play in England Germany Spain Italy and Brazil...and the match will put it in perspective it's strenghts and limitations
