We need a christian President in the White House for the next 4 years. Supreme Court Judges will be retiring and Bush will place Christian judges on that court as they retire. Don't be fooled by this fellow named Kerry. He will do everything in his power to see that your constitutional rights are dismantled and deleted. This election will shape the future of America. VOTE BUSH!!!!!!!!

I kind of do want Bush to win...
....because then I'll be truly free.

Freedom is just another word for "nothing left to lose."

We'll have lost our jobs, lost the environment, lost the budget, lost Osama Bin Laden, lost another 4 years and countless lives to Haliburton,....

Yes, we'll all finally be FREE!

Oh please, just because a man believes in the law of God, you equate this to Stalin?

Which law is that, the one that says,

"Thou shalt do coke into your 40's, then FLIP-FLOP, honor me, and bash homosexuals"?

God also says to be a STEWARD OF THE EARTH. Rolling back air quality standards and doing nothing to decrease dependency on oil does not honor God..

smurphy, what are you talking about? there is no bashing of Homosexuals, honor who? drugs? Whatever, your personal life is I don't think it matters. I think the original thread had to do with life in general and freedom of religion which is slowly being taken away from us by the liberals. Anything goes except God. We as people have a responsibiliy to take care of the earth, but some of the evironmental issues are way out whack, there has to be a middle ground.

Liberals are taking away freedom of religion? I hope you are just quoting the numbnuts who started this thread and not being serious. If its taking away freedom of religion to want Jesus in Nazareth and not in DC, then brand me a liberal.

Jesus has no place in the oval office. That room is reserved for bought and sold politicians and fat jewish girls.

piratefan:

I was actually implying we need a man who is NOT a "man of God" in the White House. As I am sure you know Stalin suppressed religion.

Now I am exagerrating (only a little) to make a point that we need to maintain separation of church and state as one of the foremost principles this nation was founded on.

Eddie, the country was founded with religion as one of the key factors, but now it is of no consequence? One of the great things about this country is you can choose to believe or not in whatever faith you like. I for one and disappointed that we can't mention God in school anymore. They sure will take my tax dollars though. I know everyone has their own thing but I couldn't go into a public office without my God for guidance. Guess your lucky I'm not in office. If I ever ran though, I would be upfront about and let people know this is who I am. We all have our biases.

Ocelot, Kennedy did a good job with seperation of Church and state and I agree with that. I know you were exagerating, it was overly obvious. I'm just saying I am a man of God and thus couldn't be the president because I would bring my beliefs with me. That is not what is best for the country. But, I will lean towards someone who does trust in God and isn't afraid to show it. And only because of my beliefs, (only personally, I'm not speaking for anyone else) I hope to see a more conservative group in the supreme court.

Yes piratefan you SHOULD be outraged that your tax dollars would be used to support some religion you DON'T agree with. Your tax dollars were taken from you to support the schools, roads, public transportation, water and sewer system, tanks, bombs, bullets, Republican Congressmen as well as Democratic.

Everyone can find many things they don't want their tax dollars spent on. So what? What does God have to do with school anyway? Parents should be in charge of educating their kids to the value system they individually want. Isn't that the Republican way? Why do you want government to take over the Prayer Business? Republicans rant about how the government can't run anything properly but they want the public schools to administer religious education? Do you really think your kids are going to behave differently because there is a prayer at the beginning of the school day? When they come home and see the television for hour after hour of perversion and immoral antics? Besides, if you do think it makes a difference you have an option: Its called send your kid to a private religious school or home-school.

PF:

But whose God are we talking about? Are we talking about Bush's God (Jesus), Bin Ladens God (Mohammed), Sanjay's God (Buddah), or Raymonds God (Yaegermeister)? I believe our country was founded on religous ideals and morals but not religion itself.

Surely, you see the dangers in bringing religion into the equation. First of all, way too many people have died in the name of God, whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddist, Druid, etc. When you inject God into politics you immediately alienate those 1) who believe in a different God, and 2) those who do not believe in God at all.

I'm all for religion. But not in government. How you live your life, whether religous based or secular based, is your business. God is great in church, temple or mosque. Take him from those places if you wish and live your life by such morals and standards but do not impose such beliefs on others.

By the way, my wife and are are going to be the only two people in Great American Ball Park tonight to watch the 28 1/2 games out Reds take on the 32 games out Pirates. Looks like my Reds have 4th place in the Central locked up.

Free tickets, 77 degrees and sunny and no beer lines put me on the river tonight with the trophy. Can anyone imagine a more boring game than that which I will attend in about 5 hours.

piratefan,

Sorry if I misunderstood. I appreciate your honesty about your leanings. You would likely make a fine President. I've no problem with any President's personal beliefs so long as they are kept in their proper place respecting all American's personal beliefs.

Take care.
