yankee stadium faces.....

yankee stadium faces.....

if you are standing at home plate facing centerfield you are facing north east. i am assuming that wind from the west, means that the wind will be a cross wind pushing toward right field which is 314

Correct about the stadium direction. Having just returned from a whirlwind tour attending Games 1,2, 4 and 5 I can safetly say it may not matter which way the wind is blowing, the Sox look like they are content to dog it out the rest of the series. Yesterdays game was a prime example. I hope it isnt the case, but I fear it is.

Also we sat in the Upper Deck near the foul pole in Yankee Stadium (felt like we could touch the F14s flying over) and I dont know how much affect the wind has there. It was windy outside that night, but couldnt really tell inside the stadium. Certainly not a scientific analysis just my casual observation.

The wind does tend to swirl in different directions at times... But i will say this ..if the Balls are skied, they are leaving.

These wind gusts today are potent !

Does anyone have info on whether these guys are groundball or flyball pitchers? % of flyouts vs. grounders, etc.? Thx in advance.

Take the Bronx Bombers. Andy Pettitte's break off the table curve ball will be very strong in this wind. Look for big strike out numbers from him today. He is on fire and I would expect him to show up big at home in the clincher vs. a team who has really struggled vs lefties lately. You should see the same lineup from the yanks as yesterday (loaded with lefties) and with the wind playing in their favor vs. a very skeptical pitcher in Burkett.....yanks clinch it today.....thats why the price is where it is....I am on the pin stripes!
