I learned a long time ago(and alot of$$) even though we have our favourite teams, we have to bet with our brain and NOT our heart.Back in the 70's I used to bet DALLAS each and every week.Hey,they were MY team,I had to have some$$on them.
Boy ,did that get me some weeks.
My little point, use brain power and we might have a chance to get the 'man'..
Good luck to all.(and think over G.Bay)..spanky...

i think the point is that jack has been riding balt (a believer) for quite some time now. now he will abandon them for a rainy field? what were those stats he threw at us? 14 out of 16?

now that they are giving "only" 1 1/2? true, the line casts doubts on the outcome, but g.b. at home gets a lot of backing from all over, and that may account for the short line.

and i don't mean from a fan's perspective either.

you are not serious, are you jack? is it because i picked them this week, finally? i will get my 5-0 one of these weeks, maybe this one.

The forecast is calling for rain but its been my experience weather people ALWAYS overestimate the chance of rain or snow so I'm skeptical.

ravens have a speedy defense and the slippery, rainy field takes that away from them. i just saw your post in the other forum, valuist, and i did see them play miami in the slop last year and they were horrible. i would expect to see more of the same in the rain.

pep--also, my numbers system starts this week and i have gb winning the game 21-10. i'll probably leave the game alone unless it's really raining hard....then i'll take the packers.

hey! i went against maryland last night. i lost money but i got the bonus of my team staying undefeated. if i lost money betting against my ravens, at least my team would have the win and make it seem not so bad.

i see what you mean about the slop (now we have built up the rain severely), and i do understand about your number system, meaning you now have 4 games to start fiddling with projected scores.

are you using only this season, or adding part of last season as well?

slop and number projection aside, do you believe that 21-10 is anywhere near reality? i can't believe i'm making a case for baltimore with you.

every week for the last i don't know how many weeks, with the exception of the superbowl, i always had doubts about baltimore. i must admit i fell in a trap with their defensive heroics, not noticing how their offense was slowly picking up toward the last half of the season last year.
they are now missing their strong running back, but once again seem fully adjusted.

i didn't think much of tampa before last week and i still don't. what i saw was a green b. offense that was mesmerized by an aggressive defense, having the game within their grasp and not nailing it. i expect balt's offense will know what to do with the ovoid, unlike tampa. i can't see things being any easier this week for green b.

i must admit this is a great spot for a personal fade, as this will be my first backing of balt in quite a while.

do you believe that 21-10 is anywhere near reality?

nope....not at all. no where near it

but that might be a homer thinking too. i have been accused of that you know.

that's why i'm not going to bet the game unless it's pouring down rain. sorry i didn't make that clear before. it has to be real sloppy out there.

the numbers are for this year only and have worked well for me in years past.

GB's scoring numbers are on the high side because of who they played, but hey, they still scored all those points, right? their scoring DEF numbers are low because who they played too.

the ravens OFF pretty much gave up 5 TD's (2 TD's, an interception returned to the 3 yd line and 2 turnovers inside the 30) i don't think they have given up a substancial drive (50+ yards) for a TD yet this year. so, it's going to be tough for GB to get ANY points much less 21.... know what i mean?

the ravens will be 'up' for the game because they still feel like they aren't getting the respect that they deserve and billick has them fired up about going to GB and putting the stops on farve.

the OFF is starting to get comfortable and are actually moving the ball on the ground again too. they definitely have the air game that they didn't have last year.

man...i'm starting to talk myself back into another bet on the ravens.

i think they'll win unless it's a sloppy field they're playing on.

just my opinion.

good luck!

i agree with the Ravens....the Pack is pretty tough to go against at home, but the Ravens seem to be the class of the league right now along with St. Louis....
