Jack.....i'm guessing they can't.......... i'll ask my dad to check and see if he can get in, and post you what he responds to me in messenger.

do you just want to know about being able to view the forums, or all of the other goodies as well..... (could already tell you they can NOT see anything to do with who is browsing)

stand by for a better answer.

okay, how did my sig get enabled?? musta messed something up playing around!!

probably not much that can be done at all, other than going back to the old format......... webtv does not have Java .......and it looks like much of this new site uses it :)

nope, not a definite *no* yet ...... i sent dad the main page, and just told him to see if he could access the forums..... not sure if he knows exactly what i was talking about, so gonna step him thru it via cel phone once he gets home from work :)

he DID say that he was able to get in tho..... i'm just not sure yet if that means the main page (where it says *click here to enter new forums* or something along that line) or if it means he actually made it TO the forums.

(if you don't hear from any other webbies in the mean time, that are actually able to get in and respond to this thread, the easiest way for me to tell you what is up on a web will be when i'm down at dads house this weekend :)

I'm on WebTV, and Downloading is SUPER SLOW!

I'm on WebTV, and Downloading is SUPER SLOW!

Hey Jack!

I use WebTV, and I'm having lots of trouble accessing most of your "new" improved message forum! :(

Main complaint for me as a WebTV user is the incredibly SLOW downloading of the entire site in general! I only get partial threads for the most part! In fact, I'm replying as this message thread is downloading! UUGGGHHH!

Oh well! I guess progress (e.g., new fangled look and features) had to be made, even if it is to the sacrifice of us WebTV users! We're surely in the minority here as users go, so it was the "cost of business" I suppose!

Not sure how many WebTV users access your site, but I can assure you they won't be hanging around for hours waiting for the darn thing to download! It's truly frustrating! :(

Hopefully, you'll work the "bugs" out so we (WebTV people) can come back here like the "old days!"

GL2U, and I'll stop in the future to see if there's been any progress made!

Here is the latest info from dad....he didn't say anything about the speed, but he's used to WebTV being slow for everything, anyway, so maybe he didn't notice :) He is on a WEBTV plus, is the girl you are referring to that can't get in on a plus or a classic? that would be a key place to start asking her questions to determine the prob. :)

Annie says:
near the center of the page, it should say *click here* for new forum page or something like that......
JERRY says:
ok
Annie says:
Adam is the only one feeling actually good....i've stayed about the same since this morning, and melissa feels worse than this morning, but better than last night.
Annie says:
okay, it's in the mail...there has been a report that a webtv user can't get in.....and i'm guessing it is correct that they can't.
JERRY says:
stilll there?
Annie says:
yup, still here.
JERRY says:
what am i suppose to do when i go to that site
Annie says:
just see if you can get to it.
Annie says:
try and go into the forums and see if you can read anything.
JERRY says:
I got into it,ok , ready to get out of here I will check when i get home
Annie says:
okay, thanks
JERRY says:
ok catch u later
JERRY says:
It looks like I can go anywhere in the site
Annie says:
okay, cool, thanks....
Annie says:
were you able to read in the *general discussion* forum where the subject said questons for webtv users?
JERRY says:
never saw that, will go back and check now
Annie says:
okay, i think it's like the 3rd post down or so.
JERRY says:
I clicked on the message forum, but never did find anything about webtv
Annie says:
okay, you clicked on where it took you to the message forums..... did you then go in to the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum? that is where the post is.
JERRY says:
no ,l will check
Annie says:
okay....thanks......... not sure how far the other person with webtv was able to make it.....just know that they couldn't access the *forums* that may not mean the main page.

BahamaMama, I Use WebTV PLUS!

Still downloads at SUPER SLOW SPEED!

Maybe it's the time of day or something when I'm using this WebTV PLUS receiver! Who knows?

Just wanted to add that to your "fact finding" mission!"

I'm a webtv plus user too. Agree with Crackrat, the site is super slow now! It's a real pain just trying to read one post.
Also, i have two other buddies that are not members with webtv and they are both having the same problems.

Jack - I have a classic model 150 WebTv. I can access all the forums and sites. Scrolling down is the only problem because it's so slow. The woman who can't get in should check with WebTv to see if she has all the updates.

Jack, i've checked out the site on the webbie, and was EXTREMELY impressed at how much better it looks than the last look. (on webtv, to anyone that has never seen one, it is far better to have the links on the top, rather than the side).

many more things than i expected to be were just as usable/visible on the web as on the computer.

load time was naturally slower than even the worst of computers would be, but when i checked it, it wasn't any slower loading than the last format was..... (but it was fairly late in the evening when i looked at it, will check it again close to gametime tomorrow when it's busier than hell in here)

oh yeah, and GO BEARS, GO RAVENS :)

thanks for the replies. i'll refer all webtv users to this thread.

i cut down a good bit of the grapics and links at the top. hopefully, it loads quicker for most and it does cut about 6" of scrolling out.

the forum loads quicker for me and i use a dial up connection. i can't imagine it is slower for people with the same or better.
