--Maholm was crap in his only start this season and it was against these same Giants...he was
crap in his only meeting with them last season as well (in SF); Vogelsong has been garbage in
his 1st 2 including facing same at Dodger Stadium; both clubs sporting decent team OPS's of
.751 (pre-last night, as apparently the espn dudes sleep more than I do) with the dodge at
.811 past 7 days and SF .736 same period; Giants a solid OPS of .843 vs L this season against
5 starters and whatevas BP thrown in; latest word is a medium wind blowing out to right-center
but overnight wind projections should be taken with a grain of salt and I don't know how much
the wind helps launches since Bobby Bonds *son did or didn't break whatever *silly ethical codes
the totalitarian commissionership plagues the Ayn Randians with (we need the all-drug Olympics,
like in that old Chevy Chase SNL skit)...anywho, at least there's not supposed to be a strong wind
blowing in; lotsa base-runners yesterday, despite the low score; while both clubs had Monday off,
it didn't hurt to see them stretch their BPs with extras--went 12--especially after both SPs
went 5 innings meaning 7 innings work for each pen; scheduled ump Andy Fletcher doesn't deter me

--J.Fernandez has excellent numbers vs nats in 2 previous and will look to come closer to his
first 2 GS, both very dominating, as opposed to the career-high 6 earned runs he allowed in his
last at Philly...I watched some of that game and ump Kerwin Danley was scratching the balls all
night, as evidenced by a rare 4 BB from Jose and a 54-52 K-BB mark for opponent Burnett,
with Philly relievers adding 5 more BBs in their 4.2 innings...scheduled ump here is Clint Fagen
and while I know little about him, I do see he's done 3 unders this season with a rather high
K% of 64.85 (was much lower last year--61.41% in 15 games but he's young enough to fear getting
chased out of the stadium if he's not at least slightly more generous to Jose than KD was);
I've never seen Roark toss but after being pretty good at the Mets he turned in a crap game
at Atlanta; logic dictates that Flor should bag this easily after yesterday's bizarre explosion(Fish)
vs implosion(gNats) but I suppose that logic and gambling sometimes don't mix

--DLRosa soso vs in15 and just garbage for his 1st 3 and facing the coming-into-his-own Cashner,
off of his 1-hit shutout at home to the offensive-minded Tigers, no less; the Pads have only
faced 1 lefty started this season and that was in their opener--they won 3-1 with Cashner starting
but lefty Ryu didn't take the L as he went 7 scoreless...caveat emptor as Pads OPS is a pitiful
.537 vs L but this is in very limited and Pads played .500 ball vs L in '13 including 14-12 at home
(were 49-59 vs right...mind you 31-24 home to right); I still want some 1st5 somehow...for both
games of the parlay, actually

quickie other notes:
--both Peralta and Kelly have poor numbers vs opponent in limited
--decent wind in from right with ump Ted Barrett going for any tempted to lowball that 7
(was -117, now -131 at pinnacle) for Felix-Yu
((F-Yu?))
--strong wind blowing out to right-center for pound-me-Dickey vs hit-the-showers Pelfrey but,
speaking of showers, there's a 50% chance of same in Minny
--I before E except after C
