I haven't had the greatest success in this league historically, but had a nice day yesterday, so I'll post my picks for today and maybe I'll get lucky again:

Juve -167/-1 +105
Barc-Werder Over 2 1/2 -150
Udinese - 1/2 -143
Udinese U 2 1/2 -160
Lille + 1/2 -135
Man U Pk -120
Barc 1st Half +175

Juvetus and Barc Over are my top 2 picks.

I really like Juve today. Also played Barc Over smaller play. Good luck with the rest of your plays. :mj14:

Yeah, Juve should stomp on them, they have improved the team in the off season. They are all about the Champs League this year. Domestic League will take a back seat to Champs for the team this year. I took them at +950 to win it all this year (along w/Lyon @ +2200) and they start out w/a convincing road win here I believe.

...that being said, I put a little on 0-0 draw +700 just to hedge an all out defensive strat by Brugge.

3 wins 2 draws 3 losses on the picks and lost the hedge and went 1-1 on the best picks. Why do I keep betting on this. Champs League has never treated me right! When will I learn?

What is the deal with the Champs League and the UEFA Cup? I heard a lot of these teams don't care about these games. Is that the case?

Do most of these teams only care about their own leagues?

they care about champions league for sure, that is more important than national leagues, but uefa may be less important depending on the team and some teams may play 3-4 bench players

A perfect comparision is NCAA Basketball:

Champions League = March Madness - Everyone wants to win it and be the Champions of Europe.
UEFA Cup = NIT - Really got to pay attention to what teams are excited at the opportunity and which are upset they are not playing in the bigger tourney.

The difference is that unlike the NCAA Tournment, these run concurrently with the domestic season which forces teams to balance the domestic games with the European games. Since the Champs league games are in the middle of the week you may actually see some of the teams resting players in domestic games before &/or after the Champs League games.

Key is reading the team news and match previews as much as possible to see who they are resting and for what games.
