Marshall -9 over EKU **
Herd have probably one of the best 2-gd tandems in the country..in Elmore and Burks..Elmore can do everything,pass,shoot,etc..Burks can score...EKU has a big time player in Mayo....but think gds are way to much for EKU...good gds negate home court advantages...esp ones that can also score..last yr Herd won 91-71 and those 2 guys had 25 and 24 pts....Herd did lose 2 yrs ago @EKU 89-80...year before Herd won 96-72...so EKU defense gave up 91,80 and 96 in past 3 yrs..think Herd offense is to much for EKU defense..but Herd need to improve their defense esp on in the paint vs Mayo..
Bucknell +9 over Bonnies *
Tough early game to predict..Bonnies lost Mosbly and Adams...Stockyard is only top returning scorer and think he's out tonite..Bucknell lost its 3 top scorers..but Davis is the most underrated coach in college...last yr they lost to Mich St by 4 at the big dance..Bisons always play tough defense .. think they hang with the Bonnies...not a strong play when you consider the top 7 scorers combined for both teams are gone...need to really see a few games under their belts ...
Peter -8.5 over Lafayette *
playing this more with my heart then brain so maybe everyone should pass...Peter lost Griffin who could score and rebound..lost a few other players but more importantly lost Dunn their coach..he went to Marist..Dunn is the best defensive coach in the country..Hollaway from Seton Hall takes over as coach..So Peter will play more transition and fast break..open the offense...not sure how that will work out...Peter never go the NY-NJ 3-4-5 stars players...the Seton Halls,Rutgers,Johnnies,etc got those kids,Dunn got the left over kids with 1 or 2 stars or no stars and yet them contend in the MAAC and won games they had no business winning...The Canisius's Iona's etc were always worried about St Petes...so a new era starts tonite...Dunn won with working the clock,shooting good FG % shots and defense..Hollaway will open it up..does he have the players to do that..Turner is tough and Idowwu can score...we have to wait and see..Laf lost 21 games last year and can't play defense..they do have some scorers back...so if Peter can continue to play some defense and Holloway open his offense they might get a double digit win vs a lower bottom Pat conf team ...and in 2 or 3 years the Red Foxes under Dunn will some some games..
