Hnilicka started the season with hopes of being the No.1

didn't happen, but his play has been excellent of late in minors (shut out last start there) and he has a chance here to show himself off and get back in.

from today's paper:

"Milan Hnilicka, rather than Frederic Cassivi, will start in goal against the Lightning. Cassivi beat Buffalo 4-3 in overtime on Monday after Dafoe was hurt during warmups. But Hnilicka was unbeaten in his last six starts for Chicago (AHL) and had an 11-2-1 record with a 2.35 goals-against average and .927 save percentage.

"We heard lots of great things about Milan at Chicago," Hartley said. "He's on a good run right now."



any thoughts?

Also read about Hlincka's stats in the AHL. He has the potential to have a great game, having done it in the past and also knowing that he is on a good run, I would not worry that much about him tonight.

Hnilicka had a horrible game against TB this season (which may motivate him some more) . but better numbers last season: 1-2-2 with 3.59 gga.

with Khabib's improved play of late, gonna go small on under. only problem is teams offense has picked up...

I'm not buying into any of the motivational stuff for Atlanta, can't see them stealing a win in this one. Tampa needs it more, wants it more, and will definately be ready. Atlanta has won five overtime games this year including the win over Buffalo. However, they are 0-4 in games following those wins while being outscored 23-6. Atlanta is a bad play IMO, much better teams to take tonight instead. GL just the same m8
