Yes he's back.....back in town. After a much needed one and a half week hiatus to spend my winnings for the first month I am back. I could tell you all what I did with all the $32 (yes that's 32 dollars) I won during the first month of the baseball season, but that would take too much time and nobody cares anyway. Was busy worrying about the nba and nhl playoffs to pay much attention to baseball, and it showed in my results, but I suppose winning something is better than losing. By the way, the lakers moneyline yesterday was my biggest bet ever and a blind squirrel did find a NUT. In my boredom, I figured out with the time I'm taking to handicap and watch the games, I made about 42 cents an hour during the first month. BUT mind you, that is tax free.
With my mind entirely focused on baseball for the remainder of the summer, I hope to repeat the last 6 seasons where I did very well, and I hope everyone in this forum kicks ass. Great place.
UPDATED RECORD (who cares, I won $32 dollars. You check the old threads if you really care.)
NEW RECORD 0-0
April 30th, 2003
PENDING
All games are scheduled starters and the majority are placed at pinnacle if anyone cares.
1) Houston Astros 148/100 (L) - $148
- Stro's are 15-5 in their last 20 against lefties. Rough road trip for them and a loss last night, should be due to cool off the braves with their ace on the mound.
2) Dodgers/ Phillies UNDER 7 105/100 (W) + $100
-Dodgers have the worst offense in baseball (at home) next to the tigers, but have great pitching. If Perez has got his stuff, phillies will struggle and Padilla should keep the dodgers under wraps in the hardest ballpark in baseball at night to score runs.
3) Cubs/ Giants OVER 7.5 100/110 (L) - $100
-In Clements last 3 starts at Pac - Bell (including with the Padres), the scores were 9-3, 0-13, and 3-8. Cubs averaging 6.5 a game on the road and the giants 5.9 at home.
4) Kansas City +182 100/182 (L) - $100 SICK BEAT
-Yes, thet will fade and finish near mendoza, but GREAT value here. Lowe got rocked by texas, and in his last 3 starts vs. Kansas City, Boston has lost 2-6, 8-11, and 11-13. All about value.
5) Texas +135 100/135 (W) + $135
-Both bullpens abused last night (13 pitchers), but I can't believe I'm saying this, but Texas has a better pen than the blue jays. Sturtze is tampa reject and Drese looked okay against the Red Sox last outing. In what should be a slugfest, I'll take the Texas pen (did I really say that?)
6) Yankees/ Mariners OVER 9 DOUBLE PLAY 200/216 (W) + $216
-Yanks getting shut out at home should piss them off enough to whack Moyer around. In his last 5 starts against the M's EVERY game by pettite has gone over. Scores are 12-3, 2-10, 5-7, 13-6, and 11-5. Pettite will give up runs as well.
7) Detroit +139 100/139 (PUSH/ NO ACTION PITCHING CHANGE)
-Strictly a smoking crack play, but Maroth at home is a much different pitcher on the road, and last year he did beat the O's 3-0 at home.
8) Tampa Bay +200 100/200 (L) - $100
-Another past performance value play. Twinkies not playing good ball at all, and Pinellas got tampa moving in right direction with young talent. McClung pitched good in last outing and Radke has lost his only 2 starts to the D rays 7-0 and 4-3. Worth a shot at this price.
9) Chicago/Oakland OVER 8 100/100 (L) - $100
-Sox LOVE lefty pitchers although Mulder is one of the best. Buerlhe isn't the same pitcher as last year yet. Two pretty good offenses. Gotta love the fact that in a close game the human OVER machine in billy koch might see the field.
Good luck to everyone.
