My other plays for the night:
Baylor -2.5 *** (3 Units)
Nebraska is playing better as of late and is tough at home, but Baylor displays the type of makeup that is hard to overcome. Udoh has been fantastic this season and I do think it is possible that the Cornhuskers could slow him down a little with Diaz. But then you have to factor in the duo of Dunn and Carter. They penetrate so well that teams have to contend the shot and or send an additional player out on the wing to close the gap on the shot. This is where Udoh then becomes a factor again. When you try to defend one area the other is left wide open. Teams have elected to go after the backcourt, which has enabled Udoh and Baylor to use their size to outrebound most everyone. With the line this close, I like the Bears to win by two or three baskets.
Drake +5.5 *** (3 Units)
This is the game I am really looking forward to. N.Iowa has been playing great basketball this season and bottomline they figure out ways to win basketball games. Drake is coming off two tough losses on the road losing by one possession in both contests. In the last month, Drake might be the toughest team in the MVC to play when they are at home. Going 4-0 with victories over Wichita, Creighton, Illinois St, and Missouri St. Four very good programs. During the stretch over this last month, Templeton has been gaining some steam and Young is averaging 18.5 PPG and 4.5 RPG from the guard spot. Without question the Panthers are big and play fundamentally sound basketball. Kock and Eglseder are big powerful bodies and can create havoc in the lanes, but for as wide and tall as they are the rebounding is not that impressive. What I like is the Bulldogs are getting better, playing with an extra step at home, and have continuously found ways to get to the free throw line much more than their opponent which has translated into success.
Southern Miss +9 ** (2 Units)
The Golden Eagles have been on a roll winning four in a row and almost 5 but lost by a point to UAB. This team has heart and is in almost every single game. They lost on the road to UAB by 1, UTEP by 7, and Ole Miss by 2. They get after it where Tulsa lets teams stick around for an entire 40 minutes. I will take the hot hungry dog against a team whose bark is louder than its bite.
V.Tech/NC State Over 134 *** (3 Units)
The Hokies have been shooting much better offensively and the scoring has reflected that. They have scored 70 or higher in 5 of the past 6 games and look better pushing the ball. NC State likes to run if they feel like they can. I don't think the Wolfpack will be able to defend V.Tech or outrebound them so the answer will be to move off of key misses for transition shots. When faced with a team that pushes, the result has been plenty of overs.
Duke/N.Carolina Under 155.5 ** (2 Units)
I feel this total got way ahead of itself and has begun to drop some since the open. I feel this line is set for last year's squads. Both of these teams like to run, but hit too many cold patches along the way for the scoring to stay up to par with the total.
Good luck! I will most likely have one or two more, but still kicking around the numbers some.
Best,
Kaiser
