Arizona State holds a 169-110 edge over Arizona since ASU began varsity baseball in 1959. The Devils beat Arizona 22-8 earlier this season in Tucson.
Facing Tough Competition:
Of ASU's eight losses this season, seven have come at the hands of teams ranked in the Top 25, including one to Vanderbilt, who has been ranked as high as #1. Their only loss to an unranked team was to Missouri, who is now ranked #25 in the country. According to BoydsWorld.com, Arizona State has already faced or will face five teams rated in the top 20 in RPI (Long Beach State, Vandy, Texas A&M, Louisiana-Lafayette and Oregon State). Also, five of the eight losses have been by one run, including an extra inning game with Vanderbilt.
at this price there may be value in the Wildcats but their 7 game winning streak is not comprised of any quality teams and it should be very well noted that their previous meeting this year was brutal. (22-8 loss at home.)
Arizona's starting pitcher tonight will be sophomore Ryan Perry who has thrown 5 2/3 innings this year with a 4.76 ERA.
lean no play, if i had to I'd pay the heavy price on ASU.
