I hope you guys were fading me last night as I'm now got a four day losing streak going which makes my overall POD record:
Play of the Day record now: 11-10-2
I hate to go against hot capper Buddy on this one, but I don't think even John Chaney's ranting is going to get Temple a cover tonight:
Fordham +9.5
Temple has lost four in a row and only covered in two of their last ten games, including 0-5 ATS in their L5. Fordham seems to be coming together, they've won 4 of their L5 and covered in their L5, with wins over UMass and the Bonnies, two teams that have just beaten Temple.
Fordham has a young team, but they're good rebounders and guards Smush Parker and Adrian Walton have been shooting the ball well of late.
Temple's leading scorer is Lynn Greer and he's been in a shooting slump, hitting just 31-75 (31%) in his L5 including 0-11 in his last game.
Leading rebounder Kevin Lyde was in the hospital Monday night with a throat infection and is questionable for this game.
Greg Jefferson, a solid player off the bench for Temple, has been suspended and won't play.
Temple's defensive play has also been poor of late: last week's two opponents (UMass and St. Bonaventure) were 30-64 from the arc against the Owls.
At 3-3 in the Atlantic 10, Temple's best chance to get into the NCAAs is to win the conference tournament. IMO Chaney's goal should be to his team healthy and try to win those four games.
Regular Plays
IMO 2 of 3 of these should cover:
Evansville +19.5
St. Peter's +20
Loyola Maryland +20
These three teams just aren't that bad and IMO 20 points is too many in league play.
